Changing the subject for a moment from mouth breathing, but...
If the Pens make the playoffs I've been thinking about who I'd prefer them to play. It's very hard to tell how the Metro standings will wind up because honestly, any of the top five teams could finish first. A small slide from the Isles or Caps could change it all around.
Teams that fear me the most in the first round: Canes and Isles
Teams that don't: Jackets and Bolts
Teams with momentum like the Isles and Canes are very dangerous. The Caps are hard to read; they kind of remind me of the Pens and will turn it up to 11 when the playoffs start.
I don't know why I'm not afraid of the Bolts. For some reason I feel like the Pens match up well against them. Some teams, regardless of the skill levels, just match up well against certain teams. NJ vs. Pens for instance. |

Straight up... I'm acting like I won 50 million dollars no matter what the prize is, and also always betting 1 dollar if I am last to bid. |

Kessel has now gone 16 games w/out a goal. Both Yohe and I are waiting for him to put the penguins on his back. |

This is a big week. The Pens don't have an easy schedule remaining after that, so getting a jump would be huge. These are some of the tougher competition:
CBJ x2
BOS
WSH
BUF
STL
PHI
CAR x2
NSH x2 - Rinosaur
Yeah you're right, I mean the only "easy" games will be the three in April. |

I'd take the Isles, Canes or Jackets. Best to avoid Wash or Tampa until later.
I'm kind of the opposite. I want to play the team who has been on a long tear and going all out for a huge stretch of the regular season. Those teams run out of steam early usually.

Nah, I don't think the Isles are for real. I'd want to play them in the 1st round
Then if the Jackets can beat the Caps it sets us up against them in the 2nd round. We're in Bob's head, so I like that matchup
Then we just need to have someone, Leafs, Bruins knock off the Bolts and we have a 50/50 matchup in the ECF. IMO, Leafs are still young and raw, the moment may be too big for them and the Bruins lack any real depth, although they have an unreal 1st line |

Yeah if I'm any Eastern team id rather play Tampa in the ECF. Unfortunately for Boston or Toronto thats not an option. |

Bruins are playing fantastic hockey. I watched that game where they shredded the Bolts....impressive. One thing about Tampa... I think they can be lured into trading chances. If we get Phil going, this team can score with any of the contenders. |

Tampa's weakness is allegedly their backend after Hedman... I'd still rather avoid having to win games 6-5 against them. Those are so damn stressful. |

McCann wasnt a throw in, he was the target.
I think Price used to be the best goalie in the world but hadn't been for a few years now, most people who watch hockey agree.
I view Murray and Kessel in the same light right now... Their stats are better than their performance. Both fail to show up at times. - MacPatty
The problem with this logic is that their stats are their performance but okay. |

Incorrect
A Goalie can play in a game where his team dominates and they win 6-1, he plays decent but only faces 20 shots all from distance
The next 2 nights the goalie can let in 3 backbreaking softies and their teams lose 3-2 on both games. Team knows the goalie is weak, so they tighten down on defence which stifles their offense
The goalies GAA is 2.33 which suggest he's playing great, his save % might be .910
His team is 1-2 in their last 3 games, he had nothing to do with the win and might have been completely responsible for the losses
A players points could be all 2nd assists and tap ins on the power play - his totals suggest he's producing, but really he's a passenger
but okay

I don’t ever use GAA to evaluate goalies. That’s your mistake not mine.
That’s why you use primary points and 5v5 points to evaluate players as well. Again, your mistake, not mine. |

So Kessel can turn the puck over, be a liability on D but get secondary assists on the PP and look good stats wise. Murray can play really well and make a lot of saves in some games but the let's in weak ones to lose others.
Not saying either are playing terrible but if you look at stats only you don't get the whole picture. |

Kessel is definitely in a slump goal wise but he will come he'll get in a groove. |
