C'mon it isnt the internet unless there is naming calling, rage, death threats or a poster banging another poster's mom

Do we need it? At this point if Buffalo is creeping up to us, it means we've already blown our chance

A little separation just means less teams in the mix. We have gone from having 8 teams in our way to having just 2 to jump. A game of inches.

Or maybe everyone needs to take a nap and come back later. The last thing we need to do is have noncombatants come at it with gasoline cans.

Yeah. Coots has been rolling. His offensive game is catching up to his defensive game. Gotta like a guy that contributes at every aspect of the game.

Would love to see him in the playoffs so he can do a Primeau 2004 impersonation

Any help is welcome. Obviously to achieve the unlikely they gotta keep looking in front, but no complaints about help in the rearview. Tomorrow We root for Boston, NJ (Blech!), Ottawa, Florida, and LA.

i agree. i would prefer it around here if we could really be plain with one another. it's a main reason why i don't post much anymore. i just got tired of having to watch what i say, aside from the fact that i just stopped giving a crap about other people's opinions.

i'm teetering on the line of believing they can do it, and accepting the likely reality they will narrowly miss, and if they do, it will have come down to about 4 or 5 games they blew in the first half of the season...which will suck (frank)ing ass.

For sure. Just think how much better they can make those post-season press conference interviews if they make it as opposed to barely miss. Ouch...yep gotta win this game!

If there were one team they were chasing then fine. I’ll say there’s a chance. Not with 2 teams ahead of them. If they get in it means Tampa. At this point I just want to watch the kids and I’ll cling to the tiny dream of a top 3 pick

I agree...I would like to remain hopeful, but the reality is they have 3 games against the Caps and 3 against the Islanders...6 games that even on the Flyers best days are really coin flips...I think they still finish with a strong record...but the losses at the beginning of the season sank them.

Why do you think Buffalo is "catching us", they are 4 points back and we passed them...

Most likely outcome. Think about the 10 game losing streak and if they had just won 3 games there. A lot to overcome. Whoever the coach is for next season they need to figure out how to get this team off and running from the first game of the season. I don't like how training camp was run under Hakstol and Hextall.

If they make the playoffs great, good for them. If not, as long as the kids play well, I'm just as cool with that. Plus, I'm a little nervous that if they did get in it would cause Fletcher to keep Gordon, and I want no part of that.

There is hope. Don't give up on the hope...it is what makes it fun. Almost the entire D is puppies, the best goalie is a kid, and a third of the forwards can't grow a proper beard. This group is young and coming on. I hope they play for a playoff spot to the bitter end. Keep fighting Flyers...Keep fighting. I believe.

This. At least not as the head coach. Not with Q out there.

I would prefer a whole new coaching staff, from top to bottom. Gordon is basically Hak with better communication skills. Obviously if you bring in a guy with the resume of Q, he's going to choose his own assistants, but no matter who the next coach is, I think the entire staff should be overhauled.

Yeah, if a someone strong comes in (like Coach Q) they will want to hire guys they think can instill their game plan. I think the new D coach has done well with the group of players he has to work with. It is hard to coach a young D. Most D take a long time to groom into shape. But I'm with a change overall for sure.

Lewis has done a good job, but I doubt at his age he'd want to come back, especially as he came out of retirement to take the job in the first place.

So Gordon is incompetent but is able to have better conversations?
