So you are concerned about cold around here?. Better not travel to Sudbury or Timmins or Ottawa or Montreal or Winnipeg or Edmonton.
When winter was really winter, the great players played for hours after school and on weekends on the frozen lakes and ponds. As a young kid, Bobby Orr played with his buddies (and girls) on a frozen lake in Parry Sound 4 or 5 hours a day. Now everybody needs to be indoors playing organized hockey because mommy and daddy think Junior is going to the NHL that way. Kills the love for playing the game at an early age. - RickJ
I'm not travelling there, but I was supposed to be in Montreal and it got cancelled.
when I was a kid, ya, getting too old for this now |

Now wouldn't it be funny if Schmaltz wins the scoring title next year? - Popsghostly
Maybe if he played against the hawks 82 times |

Wiz also has the hawks taking him. If that’s where they pick I’d rather see them take Bromberg a Swedish defenseman 6.3/198 |

They have four D prospects that could be really good, and no one who has more than an outside chance of being a legitimate top 6 forward. I like Bromberg, but hope they find someone with a good chance to being a top 6 forward. |

Schmaltz is an RFA coming off a serious lower body injury. (It must be serious. He has been out since January 8th.) Maybe Stan offers him to come back to the Hawks on a make good contract for $2mil. He only gives up a 3rd round pick. $2mil to $4mil is only a 2nd round pick. Coming back from a serious knee injury I am not sure what Phoenix would match.
I am not a Schmaltz fan, but that is an option.
With cap space and all our 2020 draft picks there are plenty of RFA's to choose from that could be good 3C's or bottom 6 wingers.

Schmaltz infuriated me with his floating and only pass mentality. That said, we expected way too much of him. He was doing well in the desert prior to the injury; the change of scenery was good for him and Strome too due to expectations. |

I agree but at least Bromberg has size and can defend as well of course this is all based on you tube clips and evaluations of others. |

That ain't gonna happen. The two teams trade a lot - Stan ain't gonna ruin that relationship. |

If that is where the Hawks end up picking, I will be thrilled with one of Turcotte, Zegras or Boldy. Bowen would be the D-man at that spot. JMO |

Well, the Hawks don't have their 3rd round pick anyway.

I don't know anything about Turcotte, but saw him falling lower and lower in the draft. What happened? I know the draft rankings will fluctuate all the way up to the actual selection, but it seemed like he is only going down. |

Probably no scoring titles in his future, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him be a 65 point guy. At some point he will probably need to just be put at wing and left there. Arizona had him playing C and his 43.3% at the dot was 32.3% with Arizona after the trade. |

Unless someone is sick or something happened to Ward that we don't know about, would seem to validate the suspicions people mentioned that Crow wasn't looking 100% since his return. |

Recently? He was injured early in the year but he has been rising lately. Ranked 4th here and a few random places have him 2-3.

I was seeing him in the double digit range. It was weird to see him that low. Thanks.
Tankathon has him at 13, that's why I was wondering. |

Rather offer sheet Andreas Johansson if you are going the offer sheet route, he has 20 goals for the Leafs basically playing third line minutes

Could be an illness, but they don't play for two days. Coulda done that Thursday to give an illness time to pass. Something's up, I suspect. |

Yep. RFA might be the best option for a top four defenseman, too. |

He is kind of all over the place. Think a lot of it had to do with the time he has missed early in the season. I think he will keep rising as it gets closer to the draft.
Any of the guys off the USNDT would be a great get. That team is so stacked, its ridiculous.
Zegras would be fine. Can play both C/W. Boldy is a dynamo. Turcotte may be the best 2-way center in this draft. All are good to excellent skates. Kinda meh on Dachs and Cozen. If its a choice between one of those two or Bowen, I would pic Bowen.
Yeah, the Hawks have loaded up on D-men but they are still assets and can be used to acquire a FW down the road.

If they're shutting Corey down for rest of year, it wouldn't be the worst thing. Let's see what Delia can do over more games and let's not risk Crow being re-injured.

I think if that were the case, they'd not need the emergency basis thing. Just put Crow on IR, and call up the kid. Anyway, hopefully something minor, no matter who it is. |
