Oh for sure I'd be pissed. But I'd probably still recognize the rule that if it's not a kick it's ok. I'd either be arguing that there was a slight kick, or that it was a dumb rule.

I'm honestly surprised they counted it even though it should have counted. With the way rules get interpreted and us being the Leafs, I honestly thought it wouldn't count.
