Yea that’s a good deal, wonder what buy out would be on Lucic. I’d imagine it’s pretty nasty

It's actually not as bad as I'd thought it would be.

Just put him on the 4th line with Smith and have the most expensive 4th line in hockey

I played around with it and waited 2 seasons until we get our huge cap savings, oddly enough there wasn’t much difference. Though if we did take on that contract, the ship would sail on any Smith or Staal buyout.

Edmonton tied with the Rangers now in points, and they have more ROW

the Rangers aren't trading for Lucic, there isn't a chance in hell, the guy is an old fat slow slob now with 4 more years 6 million a year left on his deal

they'll be spending money this summer, don't even worry about it

We are both gamblers, I wanted that unprotected Edmonton pick. With the Rangers luck though, McD would somehow score 100 goals next season and they would win the cup.

it's just not in the cards, Rangers will not be in the market to suck next year

they are going to build off all the good that's been happening with this team of late and hopefully add a top 6 player or two

Lucic is not only awful but he gets in the way of young players who would play on the bottom 6

It really is crazy just how bad he's become now at age 30. This is a guy just 2 seasons ago was a 20 goal scorer and at least an OK contributor. I think for the most part I agree with you on the blocking. I guess it shouldn't be us that finds out, but I wonder if it's just Edmonton that's causing him to be out of shape and suck. If you moved him literally anywhere else, would he stop sucking as bad like literally almost everyone else that leaves there?

probably not, I just think he got his big payday and lost the hunger to play hard, but found the hunger for Cheetos

also, keep in mind, we acquire Lucic, we have to protect him in expansion draft because of his NMC

reason number 5,984 we wont be trading for Lucic

That's a really good point, but once he waives the clause doesn't it go completely null and void?

So yes and no. Common sense though would say he'd probably make the Rangers take the clause as part of trading for him. Though I guess if he really wanted to get out of Edmonton he could waive it unconditionally and then we would void it.

Edm, Van and Chi should jump ahead of NYR with their playoff pushes

I think the Rangers are going to finish with 6th worst record, I really think it's what the final standings will be

Rangers have played 35 home games and only 30 road games
