Do you mean like the Coyotes, who had 4 straight top 10 picks, starting in 06, that got OEL and player who is slightly above average , like Turris?

You actually read his comments?
- Reubenkincade

Not usually. That top sentence caught my eye though only because he kept posting those stupid line ups thinking it was funny. It wasn't/isn't.

Yeah, I am sure many of us have gotten sucked in thinking he might actually post something intelligent, for once.
NWO/Pres cup is reaching N4U territory.

Without Prez’ giant memes, Carol’s page count would look rather pedestrian.

You mean, like N4U, and his constant ramble of the same point, over and over again, while thinking it is funny?

Anybody with parting words or wellwishes going into the Fantasy pool quarter finals week?

I know I'm not a regular sh*t-shooter around here but props to those who've come this far, best of luck to the rest of you sub-standard managers next year!

Looking forward to some Quinn Hughes action before we go into another looooong summer.

So.... virtanen is a good pick as well?
- New world order

Context. Virtanen at 6 vs McCann at 24(?). I don’t know the exact consensus ranking, but I’m pretty sure there were some that had Virtanen slipping all the way to round 2.

Missed it by that much

Much like the Canucks, my lack of depth scoring bit me in the ass. Goaltending was a strength though!

I don't think it's possible to come in and destroy a bottom 5-7 team.

McCann actually fell in the draft. Virtanen was considered a top 10 pick if im not mistaken.

I know I am going to get hate for this but if Marner becomes an RFA we need to offer sheet that kid 12.5 million or more and get him here.

Look at all of JBs other draft picks. Do you really think Jake was his guy?
- NorthNuck

Yes, I do as he was preaching size and shot. It was also prior to Judd taking over.

“If you watch the NHL playoffs, you need guys with size and strength,” Benning said. “Guys who can get to the front of the net and deflect pucks and get rebounds.

“We were looking for that type of player.”

Asked about picking those types instead of players with more skill, Benning said:

“We’re going to get back to a meatand-potatoes style of in the trenches. Play hard. So we really didn’t consider that.”

I know people really want to pin jake on aquaman, but you dont hire a drafting guru and then tell him who to pick.

Good thing we have Pearson as a champion now.
I bet Ovechkin was glad that beagle dragged that team ri a cup championship.

Seriously though, a 4th liner on a championship team isn't necessarily better then any other 4 liner. I don't get your hard on for him? He's an injury prone 3g 3million dollar center.

- New world order

Disagree...but it is what it is. Everyone has opinions lol

But I am willing to give Pearson a shot. Patience.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what he said after the fact. Of course you're going to say you made the right decision immediately following.

Nobody walks out of a draft like "Wow we really (frank)ed that one up didn't we?"

Like a backup goalie?

Also, McCann might not be Barzal or Pasternak, but he’s already played over 200 games and is almost at 100 points. Pretty far from “not working out”

Also on his third team in his short career......

50/50 is very generous.

His "best moves" are heavily influenced by the team being one of the worst teams in the league during his stewardship.

Still waiting for someone to find a team who has drafted in the top 10, 4 out of 5 years, soon to be 5 out 6 and hasn't drafted 2 great players. Hughes has a good chance to make it 3 but many of us here also thought JV and Joulevi were locks too.

That said I do think he has done some good things and drafting outside of those top picks is one.

Isn't the first round or 2 the only choices he makes?? After that I believe the scouts are heavily relied on?
