I have no problem with the Virtanen pick. He didnt work out but the process was ok. Big strong and fast with a nice shot. That skill set is hard to find. His IQ holds him back but that is such a hard thing to access with a 17year old. Juolevi was a mistake and they tried to get too cute. No issues with any of Jim’s other first round picks - CanuckDon
I can understand the reasoning even if I disagreed with the pick(s).
I do have a problem anointing Benning a draft guru because he hit on a couple of his top 10 picks so far.
All in all he looks like hes performed averagely compared to other teams that have been terrible over an extended period of time. |

lol but again, no one on here is emotional because he is gone, we (including don and ASL) are simply commenting on how is he conducting himself now. None of us are defending the Canucks (as if they are our moms or dads), the franchise, the management, etc like you said before. I don't think any of the 3 us would be first to jump in front of any insult bullet to protect any part of the canucks right now lol. - Codes1087
again, that's kind of my point. only we are allowed to criticise the team.
anyone on the outside, including ex-players will be tormented endlessly if they dare criticize "us." |

not true. Sean Avery just torched the Islanders fans in a selfie video for their boo'ing of Tavares and was praised to the gods (by all except for islander fans of course).
Again, I appreciate the debate and dialogue, and completely see your points. Just a difference of opinion, which of course, i obviously respect yours and where you are coming from.

For me it was
PLD
Tkachuk
OJ
(frank)ing Columbus and (frank)ing Benning - Nucker101
lol CLB did toss a wrench in that draft...
I was high on OJ after Mem.Cup but Vantel was starting to sell me on Sergachev.

it's easier when you can explain/justify the bad picks away.

I was under the impression we’re not even allowed to unless we follow strict protocol and narratives.

Lots of dislike and unhappiness with the team and franchise today. Brings us together.
Benning has hit two homeruns EP and BB.
Benning has struck out spectacularly on some of his signings. BS, LE etc.
Its pretty even. For everything good he has done, he has done something equally bad. Thanos approves.... |

If CBJ took Pool Party, we probably have P.K. Subban instead of OJ and Tanev right now |

i think we see and understand each other's points of view. we've thoroughly exhausted this seeming "non-issue."
islander fans were dumb to boo like that. but whatever. and leafs fans trying to console him was hilarious. but whatever.
i want more honest interviews like dahlen and pettersson. i'm willing to keep this opinion when the next controversy comes up about being too honest with the media and a swedish player. |

Everyone agrees that Brackett is a really good head scout, so why not pair Brackett with a GM who is better at making NHL moves? |

lol and i have more issue with the overabundant cheer and standing ovation that JT received by the TOR fans than I did the jeering and boo'ing from islander fans.
Again, difference of opinion and perspective, neither wrong or right. |

I loved the booing and loathed the TO response. The plastic snakes were genius |

i imagine JT would have been embarrassed. Spotlight, standing ovation, exuberant cheers and clapping, all because he had hurt feelings by his old team. |

More personality in the game is always better for sure.
Whenever my mother sees Brent Burns on TV she sneers and says he should shave that beard off. I always try to tell her we have so few guys with real big personalities that kind of stuff should be encouraged |
