It would be a miracle. And I’d expect an apology to green from Marwood and Macky. I used to defend Loui, but I’ve been hearing he is always the first off the ice and never attends optional skates. (frank) that sleepy b!tch

Your anger is misguided

He accepted a great contract, not his fault he got offered it. Staying on the ice for extra time isn't going to suddenly make a declining 33 year old a better hockey player.

He's always been a positional player on the ice, even in his prime he was that dude who wouldn't be that noticeable and then would suddenly score a goal or 2. Only difference is now he's old and can't score.

In Vegas every single player stayed on the ice to work on skills except Loui. How can you defend him lol

Edit: I don’t care about the contract I care about his indifference to wins/ losses and his declining effort

Game day!

Buy a 50/50 ticket and you'll have something to look forward to in the third period...

He had an effort?

I must have been asleep that half game.

I don't like him, but an extra 20-30 mins of practice time isn't going to help him much at this point. The Sedins lived at the rink/gym and they were mediocre at best at 5v5 last year. Once you lose that step at that age, it's gone.

How many vets over the years on the Canucks have ever lost a step due to age/decline and then suddenly looked faster the year after? Unless they were playing through an injury or out of shape and fat, the answer is none.

Again, the dude got paid at the perfect time. Good for him, absolutely terrible management decision for the Canucks for taking that risk when the reward was one last playoff push for the Sedins

remember those 3 or 4 years in dallas when he was everybody's consensus, "most underrated player?"

from that to a vastly overpaid 4th liner. seriously. the game changes fast!

It really was a perfect storm for Loui. The concussions, obviously his age, and the game getting faster and faster for a guy who was never that fast even in his prime.

it's as if UFA deals are usually overpayments where you pay for immediate production while allowing for a decline in the later years. some decline faster and steeper than others.

i wonder if there's a lesson in all this?

I hope no one takes any liberties with the team. Without Guddy, who's gonna do nothing on the ice and give a tough guy interview after the game?
