This isnt the kind of season that gets him canned. They are still playing for a playoff spot in early March even though they are collapsing now. There wasnt expected to be any meaningful games regarding playoffs this season. Except we had just that for 3/4 of the season. We also come out of this season with a budding superstar and hopes of another(hughes) next season. If slow progress was going to get Jim canned,,, it would have happened by now and I was even predicting this would be his last full season as GM... but I think the owner has already stated his satisfaction with the rebuild progress. So... maybe next season if there is a step backwards but it was all forward this season.

I'm not sold on Hughes. Elite skater though.

Pretty sure I agreed with you on Markstrom. Even though I have been one of his biggest critics in the past. Both are positives yes.

Anywho. Jake, Joulevi, Boeser, Petey, McCann and Hughes are his first round picks since he took over. Other than the Boeser pick everyone here questioned his picks. Hell even I questioned Pettersson. Only 2 people here had an eye on Petey.

He picked Jake I liked Ehlers. He picked Joulevi I liked Sergachev or Tkachuk. He picked Pettersson I liked Makar and Kostin. He picked Hughes I liked Kravtsov and Wahlstrom. I am not perfect either but I am also only an armchair GM.
