I think it’s stupid to. However Claude may want someone older or more experienced in this case. The kid is only 18. That’s the only explanation i have for benching him.

Worst part is, KK hasn't cost games for the habs like others have, but it's easier to bench the rookie. If he asked for the rest time it's fine, otherwise let the kid play god damnit

He said he’s tired.

Neither would KK, never scored on the road. One night off...the kid deserves a rest, first full season, not easy for a rookie.

18 years old, and he's the tired one? And with his talent, he has more potential of being a difference maker than Weal, despite the road curse thing.

But yeah, it's just one night lol

only in mtl do we talk about the 3rd line center (with no goal on the road so far) being scratched

True, no need to freak out, but it's still a curious decision. The no-goal-on-the-road argument means nothing imo

we all expected the kid to slow down after 40-50 games. we knew it at training camp. no surprise they give him a break here and there. all good.

I agree 100% at the same time I do believe our season hangs on these next 3 games especially with every team in the race gaining ground tonight. It’s a tough call to make.

I think if they would've given him a break here and there earlier in the season, it would've made more sense, whereas right now they're in the crunch for a playoff spot. But yeah, it's all good.

So I guess going with Weal is a "safer" choice?

I personally don’t think so. I woulda liked to see KK play tonight, see what he’s made of, big players shine best in the biggest moments.
