i have no issue with hart starting in lehigh. i get it. my issue is going with elliott and neuvirth being our goalies to start the season, more specifically neuvirth, despite his ability to be brilliant.
we do agree he has a brilliant future ahead of him. i for one, am extremely excited. - hammarby31
Oh, I didn’t like going with that tandem either. But no one guessed Elliott would go down.

Nbcsn has a stadium series recap thing on in case anyone’s interested. Usually pretty gimmicky and forced but you never know. Might get a few good one liners about your stupid win. |

That was a good recap of the stadium series. Love the mics
Edit: the Simmer helmet trade off brought tears to my eyes again. I hope he gets his cup in Nashville. Wish it could've been with us |

Honestly, not sure if I can do it justice.
BiggE is upset at MJL and maybe others and has left along with other posters for another hockey forum, only stopping by occasionally.
Posters had a tell-all about their feelings regarding the board, often singling out MJL in a less than kind manner, others voiced their support for MJL recounting his many positive qualities.
MJL, btw, doesn’t like posters telling other posters what they can say or not say. Nor does he believe, with just reasoning, that we should be airing our complaints on the open hockey discussion board. It was suggested that if you have a personal problem with any of the regular posters, you should PM them instead of discussing it with everyone.
I along with others think PM is the way to go. I have a sneaking suspicion that we might become to tame for some, but let’s give it a go first.
Note: This post is only meant as a summary of today’s discussion and in no way is meant to further the discussion. I could PM you but others that night read may have the same question so I’ll make a one-time exception. - NC Flyers Fan
JFC, I just did the 10 page back read, I could have just started here.

Favorite current Flyers prospect who has not yet played for the Flyers or Phantoms? Favorite, not necessarily the one with the highest ceiling by position. - NC Flyers Fan
Farabee. Frost gets discussed more but I think Farabee could turn out to be a real good player. Also intrigued by Alison. |

And one last thing while no one else is here, I liked seeing the Whalers jersey playing against the Bruins. |

It will be interesting to see when the college guys go pro. I also wonder how many spots we can use this summer to get some more prospects under contract. |

I think give farabee another year in school. He could compete for the hobey Baker. Lacysisnski needs to sign and get in some games. Frost should be given every opportunity to win 3C. Should this preclude them from signing a player like Kevin Hayes? No. I say go after Panarin/Hayes/Duchene....whoever they strike a deal with first. They have the money. Frost can start out 4C and we can roll our lines. |

Supposed to be one of the best free agent classes ever. Fletcher will sign 2, let’s hope he earns his money.

Going off the board here....thoughts on a short term deal with Datsyuk to be 3C? I would imagine he could be had for a loaded one year deal or a moderate 2 year deal.
There has been talk he would like back in the NHL and if his physical pans out you get leadership, a great teacher, shootout prowess |

I just made a capfriendly roster with Panarin under the cap (81 mil cap). Barely with an amac buyout. We need to go hard after Panarin. Talents like him rarely hit the open market
Contracts are
Panarin 7 x 11.25
Provorov 8 x 6.825
Sanheim 4 x 4.2
Konecny 6 x 5.275
Hartman 2 x 1.75
Laughton 5 x 3

Panarin would be a nice addition. I can see Fletcher going after a big name, almost feel like he needs to. |

Was in and out all day. Fell asleep last night trying to catch up. Long back read. Don't post much cause I'm usually back reading. I get through most of it every day. I love the back and forth takes. Even an occasional dumb idea or ridiculous barb isn't too bad. It's the racist, homophobic, misogynistic, anti-Semitic and "special" comments that torque my nuts. |

Now here's a thought that really scares the crap out of me. We have scouted and drafted an ass load of players from U.S. player development program. They are all in college. They pushed Allison hard last year and he stayed in school. I'm cool with them playing college hockey. Gets them playing against big boys sooner. Right now I'm afraid Allison may ride out 4 years and go UFA. Anybody else have serious concerns? As our roster fills out and the team improves, less spots on the big club become available. Perhaps we lose a couple because they will see other teams as an option to play NHL now as opposed to AHL or even just a chance to jump in to mire ice time. Vessey and Caggolia (spelling on both) come to mind.
Thoughts? |
