Hmmm. Hagg is an interesting one. It all depends on how Morin does down the stretch. I personally like Hagg's game and especially his hitting.
If Morin comes out really strong, and Sanheim and Myers keep pace then there could be a couple moves on defense. Most likely keep MacDonald as the 7th.... but my definate keeps are:
Provorov
Sanheim
Myers
Morin
That means you can keep 2 of:
Gudas
Ghost
Hagg
Again this is only if Morin shows he can play and Myers keeps up his play. But then I would see what I could get for Ghost. Anything less then 2 firsts, a top prospect, and an NHL forward with upside and I keep Ghost for at least another year and deal Gudas, after all Morin should be able to replace Gudas if he plays well. |

Hagg has a year left on his contract and is an RFA after that. I wonder if Fletcher wants to pay for Hagg's next contract or let it be some other GMs decision, knowing he has to pay AMac for another and might get Morin to be a useful piece in the near term.

I'd try to move AMac and keep Hagg as my 7th, personally. |

Moving AMac would be ideal, but I've given up hope on that a long time ago |

If we retain 50% and he only has 1 year left, it's not a bad deal.
Or, just waive him and take the ~$1M savings. |

The main problem as I see it is that there are a handful of posters in here who do the equivalent of saying Candyman three times in to the mirror with a troll or comment, and then complain when he shows up to answer.
You know he is going to show up, and you know he is going answer. So why be a female dog when he does?
Even when the candyman is unable to get through the mirror, a handful of posters STILL scream his name.
Candyman lives rent free. And I find it hilarious.
Simple mantra, don't start none, wont be none. And if you are too self important that you cant look in the mirror and see who the real problem is just go away. The insults flow in one direction as I see it.
If you disagree say why you disagree. No need to call names or take it personally. Too many people in here do.
And if you cant agree, say, ok we don't agree and move on.
That goes for the Candyman too..........

I agree with your analogy (and the Candyman reference makes sense, i.e. the bees). I really do. The problem that I see is that sometimes the Candyman shows up uninvited to spread his cheer around without anyone saying his name. |

The list of our young defensemen looks gluttonous. All this time I thought someone wouldn’t make it. I know they may not all reach their upsides, and Morin hasn’t had a chance to return to the NHL from injury yet, but it really is an embarrassment of riches. There is many different directions they can go because of it.

If we could get a large return for ghost then IMO it's just better to keep him as the 7th guy. He isn't going to do much beyond play a few games if someone is injured for a short period of time. Anything more and we can call up Friedman... maybe even Zamula.
Can you imagine a blueline that has Morin 6'6", Myers 6'5", Sanheim 6'4", and Zamula 6'3"? Thats a lot of reach.... |

Well, I like Hagg more than some, but he's never really blossomed into a top-4 guy, I see him as a decent/strong bottom-pair. Myers looks good, but let's give him a much longer look.
But so far, so good. |

I don't think we are in a position to move on from any of our young D yet (besides Amac of course), not saying you said we should move on but. Meyers has looked good but it's only been a handful of games, Hagg has his struggles and obviously not the biggest ceiling but he is a capable 5/6. We should go into next year with our same group and just let things play out. Injuries happen too so it's nice to have depth. |
