The optimist in me says 5-4 Jets in OT
The pessimist in me says 6-2 Tampa
Let’s see which side of me is right.

Looks like the pessimist in me was pretty damm close

Can everyone agree that the Jets PK is terrible?

I really don't understand Maurice putting the number 1 power play unit out, down by three goals with 3 minutes to play. that unit spent almost 1:45 out there. The game was pretty much over by that point. From my vantage point, it would have been nice to have the 2nd unit go out and get some practice time to form some chemistry.

Like that idea, but I don't think the coach should ever be perceived as giving up.....

He was one of wife’s favourites as well. It used to be Perreault at one time until he let his beard grow to disportionate dimensions and quickly fell off the depth chart.

He hasn’t been missing. He’s been hidden, buried under the weight of carrying players like Hendricks, Armia, Lemieux, Roslovic, and Tanev to competency.
None of the players (Roslovic somewhat excluded) can produce, and none of them drive play at all. In fact, they’re all possession drags. Perreault changes this. Hard to score when you run entire lines in all 3 zones by yourself. Appreciate him.

Hard to score when your shot has the velocity of a 12 year old's.

Perreault put up a stat line of 1 goal 1 assist in 20 games playing on a line with Little-Roslovic after Stastny was traded to the Jets, then put up 1 goal in a blowout win of Nashville in the playoffs (granted he was injured for half of them.)

In the past calendar season he currently sits tied with Lowry in points with 24, behind Tanev (28) and Copp (27)

Perreault is getting nowhere while flailing around all over the ice looking like a menace but not really accomplishing anything. Instead of flailing his stick at an opponent and then turning away while forechecking he should take some tips from Tanev and actually finish his check . Make the guy think twice the next time. Yes, he is no longer a goal scorer at all except the occasional goal in tight. He's no longer good enough for the top two lines, not even close considering the talent we already have there. A very expendable Jet. All he has left that's keeping him here is his work ethic. These days at $4.3 MM it's just not enough on a team with cap concerns.

I think that is a pretty reasonable assessment of Perreault's play and value. Thanks.

That’s what we call luck. Every player has streaks, hot and cold. He was still putting up utterly ridiculous underlying numbers the whole time.

I found it to be wrong at every stage. Nobody thinks twice with Tanev. If he hits you, he’s now out of the play. More ice for everyone else. Perreault is always in the way if you’re an opposing forward.

This weird idea that he’s somehow in decline is pretty easy to prove wrong with any digging whatsoever. Even watching the games, you can see he’s stuck making plays into the void

and if he hits you, you are also out of the play, likely a few moments longer. It also forces you to make a quicker play with the puck and under duress. Perreault has not been as good as his play 2 years earlier, he is still a luxury of depth to have due to his versatility.

Interestingly Laine, Ehlers, Connor, Perreault and Roslovic are all starting to play better. The common denominator for all those players is that they are no longer playing with Little.
