they definitely can, but that have to lose somebody in the expansion draft

with all these goalies, sacrificing one to save someone else may be the best thing

- jimbro83

If we do this right, we me able to expose a chump at any position. I know people miss Oscar, but that loss was pretty minimal compared to a lot of other teams around the league. You probably could set the draft up so you'd lose like a Boo or Brickley. Maybe you keep Claesson around for awhile or maybe Pionk is the guy we lose.

oh yeah, we lucked out losing Lindberg, I don't want to end up like Columbus who got destroyed

Honestly at this point, the Rangers might have a tough time finding players to protect in 2 years haha

Maybe this won't be as big of an issue...maybe

it's impossible to know what is going on with this team in a couple of years, especially after they draft 5 more goalies this June

Its kind of like the people who got mad about Leetch. He should have retired, but he wanted to play for a couple more years and he was really ineffective. Did it suck he didn't retire as a Ranger, sure, but the Rangers did the right thing

- mdw7413

It's not that they traded Leetch, it's the way that they did it that I think pissed people off more. No doubt that you have to do what's best for the franchise and the team's future.

I think this is where the constant shuttle between Hartford and NY might prove valuable. It's where we should root some guy like Fogarty makes roster out of camp or we keep playing Letteri. If they manage to play 40 games in the season before, or a combined total of 70 in the previous two, they are eligible to be exposed and count as the forward or D that meets the requirment.

I can't wait for them to limit how many of those teams can dole out. We're heading towards like 9 forwards and 4 defensemen per team that are going to have them soon enough

and they also drafted Lindbom, who the hell knows what he'll be come 2021
- jimbro83

That pick still irritates me.

no matter how irritating that pick is, I expect him to somehow be a factor by 2021

Me to, but it will look a lot better if he turns into something. Hopefully, we all look like fools on that one. Several good prospects still available when they took him.

passing on Bode Wilde and taking him is definitely worse than passing on Wahstrom or Dobson to take Kravstov

CBJs game 82 is against Ottawa. Imagine that becomes a situation where CBJ has to win to get in and Ottawa keeps Duchene and the Jackets out of the playoffs

Well Kravtsov looks better than both of them now. It's early though.

No doubt. Wilde dropped big time. Most mocks has him somewhere in the mid-teens. Attitude issues I guess, and you know the Rangers have always been big on "character".

I mean, they could have drafted Wilde at 39 and Lindbom would still have been there at 70, it's just baffling

Usually I can give you some type of the "organization may know best" type BS. But I don't see it on that one. Similar to the McIlrath pick given what was available on the board, where I can't think of a good reason why they did it.
