No doubt. Wilde dropped big time. Most mocks has him somewhere in the mid-teens. Attitude issues I guess, and you know the Rangers have always been big on "character".

You know it was bad when the only highlights of Olaf they had at the draft was him making saves in practice

I thought Miller's highlights were even better. Half of them were highlights of him playing football.

haha

I think they had very valid reasoning to be believe that Miller would have been taken before they picked

I can't see why they thought they'd miss out on Lindbom at least a little later though, even if they loved him. I mean the third round would have been better, even though it still would have been too early.

Usually I can give you some type of the "organization may know best" type BS. But I don't see it on that one. Similar to the McIlrath pick given what was available on the board, where I can't think of a good reason why they did it.

Because Gaborik got his ass handed to by Carcillo him while the team stood around and watched. They were trying to get the next Beukaboom..

I know this is really stretch reasoning, but maybe we should be happy with the Olaf pick. If we wanted him and waited on him, we might have not picked Keane who could be a real gem this draft.

I was thinking that Jakob Ragnarsson is probably bad pick

passing on Bode Wilde and taking him is definitely worse than passing on Wahstrom or Dobson to take Kravstov

There was tons of backlash to that too and by the start of the next season, it's almost like everyone forgot about it and just put on Jagr jerseys instead.

The lockout helped with that

It also helped that Jagr had the greayesy season anybody who was a Ranger fan had ever seen. Think about that. 54 goals (single season record). 69 assists(7th most all time in a single season.). 123 points (single season record.). Those records won't be broken.

That season reignited my passion for this team. I was so frustrated as kid when they were bad and just try sign/trade for every name only to have those names just be awful. Didn't help that the Flyers were good and the Devils were champions.

The trivia question last night was just the cherry on top of that era. Rangers think they find their next franchise goalie in Dan Blackburn. He sustains a severe nerve and muscle injury lifting weights. Forced to retire.
