That season reignited my passion for this team. I was so frustrated as kid when they were bad and just try sign/trade for every name only to have those names just be awful. Didn't help that the Flyers were good and the Devils were champions.

it was bad times, the blogs were awful, our worst days on this blog didn't compare to what was happening on the Ranger blogs in those days. I remember when they pretty much had to shut down the Daily News Rangers blog

The year before the lockout was my first as a season ticket holder... I used to spend my entire nights alone in a empty row watching Jason Doig basically end Lindros' comeback or some other nonsense.

The trivia question last night was just the cherry on top of that era. Rangers think they find their next franchise goalie in Dan Blackburn. He sustains a severe nerve and muscle injury lifting weights. Forced to retire.

What happened with Blackburn/Cloutier/Lundqvist just show why during our rebuild you have to keep stockpiling every position. The main core of our next winning team may not exist yet or currently be afterthoughts in out orgnazation. 2 first round picks, our hall of fame goalie was the late pick as a favor to a scout.

With some top Cup contenders having key RFA's with minimal cap space to work with, this could the year in starting alone with their direct competition, that they may see other teams tender offer sheets to their top RFA's.

That begins in chief with some of the elite teams such as Tampa, Toronto, and Winnipeg facing possible offer sheets made by others to one or more of their respective pending RFA's, which may be hard to match despite the compensation it would cost those potential buyers.

The Rangers willingly got rid of Cloutier as part of trade in order to draft... Pavel Brendl.

Edit: And let's say the Rangers don't draft Lindblom. They'd still have Lundqvist, Shesterkin, Georgiev, Wall, Haalversson, and Huska.

there was just no reason at all to draft Lindbom in the 2nd round

doesn't have to get more complicated than that

well yesterday I talked about a trade offer with Tampa for Point, because their cap situation is pretty insane

So Mika Zibanejad had his major penalty and game misconduct rescinded by the NHL. “We lead the league in apologies,” Coach David Quinn said.

I mean if they had given him a minor I would have been ok with it. He did board Faksa, but to stay he did with intent was just garbage. I hope both Steve Kozari and Justin St. Pierre get drilled with pucks in the near future.

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. The NHL really needs to take a look at the quality of their refs. I honestly don't have an answer for this problem, but it really needs to be addressed. Most every game now we routinely see AWFUL calls that defy explanation or belief. This will only get worse as the cameras and angles they broadcast continue to get better.

three Rangers have played all 66 games this season and Marc Staal is one of them

this is not necessary

it's courageous to not bow to Lundqvist but when is Marc Staal gonna get a game off

He won't. Quinn can't look him in the eye to tell him.
