Just trade him to DET for Athanasiou. Problem solved. - Feds91Stammer

I'm still upset Lindquist didn't make it for this reason. Imagine in 20-21 Lundqvist passing to Lundqvist stretch passing to Lindquist. Sam would have a stroke. |

if during the negotiations to get him over here, his agent requests that he play with the Rangers immediately so he can get to RFA quicker, you'd say no? - jimbro83
I just think you (by you I mean the Rangers) have to weigh the pros and cons:
Pros: under contract now, eliminates him going back to Russia. More than likely balances out the line for the forwards. Gets NHL experience.
Cons: Lose a year of his ELC for 3 weeks of NHL time. Gets to UFA a year sooner. Lose an expansion spot. |

BTW, I'm on your side. However, I can almost guarantee if we willingly burn an ELC year, we will make sure he signs an 8 year as his second contract. 10 full seasons is a majority of a career anyway. I guess we could bridge if we wanted too, but I'd worry about him becoming a 50 goal scorer and then we will pay out the wazoo. |

I don't need your (frank)ing help!
I just think it can't be that difficult for the Rangers to sell this to Kravtsov. Like I can't believe that Kravtsov would get the full 925-975K if he signed right now. It has to be pro-ratted right? |

Honestly for the first time in a long time I am not worried about the Rangers salary cap situation. So many players coming off the books in 2 years and there is no guarantee we will land any big UFAs. If they need to pay Kratsov more sooner, so be it. |

I can't speak to that but I would most likely be the only driver in NY state with the disfigured corpse of a multi-lingual NHL player chained to my bumper |
