Great chefs don't necessarily make great cookbooks. Often way too complicated for cooking everyday meals. Nobody's debating that Ricardo is probably a very "meh" chef...his recipes are still for the most part pretty good and simple to make.

I accept hscesq's version as the official one.

He says it himself. He's not a "good" cook but a great writer and promotes himself brilliantly.

If you're gonna go out and recommend a cooking book made in QC...

Either send QP's recipes or grab a real (frank)ing chef like Vezina, Joe Beef, Picard, Juneau ....
