Probably because hockey players typically play hurt. It’s a long season and if you’re lucky to play beyond that you’ll most likely play hurt. Not a valid excuse for a slump, if he’s too hurt to play he should be in the press box.

I also recall vanek being chastised for certain flaws as well. I love skinner but if he wants to make top ten money in the league believe me he will be criticized.
