Habs fans all want Benn out of the lineup - golfingsince
There you go we accept all teams rejects without bias
Jordie Benn has one less goal and one less assist than Edler btw |

2 years would be fine with me. Beats signing Myers for 5+ years. - Nucker101
My money is on both happening. |

Of course.
It's more about being afraid of the alternative. I have low faith in this regime's ability to spend money wisely on a dman to replace him. Look at their track record with NHL dmen they've acquired. It speaks for itself. - Nucker101
I agree that they easily can screw it up with a poor signing for long term.
I'd at least try and make the change by not signing him. Signing him is not moving forward in my opinion. I'm not comparing players but I'd be alright with Hutton taking Edlers 5 on 5 role since Hughes will be on the PP even if his 5 on 5 minutes are "managed". Yes, I'm confident they start him on the Canucks next season. No I don't care if whomever isnt as good as Edler over all. Being handcuffed by injuries is ok the last couple of seasons for the draft but things are changing and that will just rip the kids off of a honest chance at success.

What's wrong with a one year deal 2 mil to Benn?
Everyone complains about wasting cap space and ridiculous contracts . Why repeat it again with a 3 x6 full NMC ?
I am sure OJ will be top 4 next year
- VANTEL
Benn isnt good. We dont need more bottom pair d anymore than we need bottom 6 forwards |

I agree, but let's be realistic here. If Edler walks, Benning is opening up Aqua's chequebook |

Yet he has the same point production as our top Dman . Are you afraid we might slip into bottom 5 ? Oh wait.
You can't female dog about Beagle making 3 mil and producing like a 4 th line player and go give another 33 yr old 6 mil who produces as a bottom pair player. |

I'm all for losing Edler and Tanev, replacing them from within.
Let's get that Lafreniere tank rolling. |

I don't think you need Edler . You finish at the bottom of the league with or without him. He misses a quarter of the schedule.
He takes up all the PP time and does not produce.
He uses up a lot of cap space and will want a NTC. |

It's not about what we'd do, it's about what Benning will do. If he lets Edler walk, he's going to do whatever it takes to sign a big name UFA dman. |

She used my bank card to make a withdrawal and lend it to her brother without asking. After he failed to pay me back and I was going to punch him out, she snuck the card from me, made a withdrawal and paid off the dept... with my money.

20 points in 40 games is pretty good production. Benn isnt very good, would be better than our bittom three guys I suppose but there’s no need to put lipstick on a pig. He cant play big minutes. |
