not so sure it is a slam dunk talbot is the backup next year. Maybe elliot would be cheaper and easier to sign.

So what was the point of trading a decent young goalie away for Talbot if their intention is not for him to be one of their goalies next season? They just wanted to set that “most goalies to start in a season record”?Now that Elliott played two decent games and hasn’t hurt himself is he back in for next year?

No way Fletcher re-signs Elliott.

I've got mixed feelings on Talbot but they need to play him to see if he is worth signing. He was outplayed in Edmonton this year by Koskinen, so they really need to see if he's worth signing.

If they sign him for next year and he plays to a sub .900% I'm not going to be happy.

Do you think they traded Stolarz to audition Talbot?

I agree with you about Elliott. Good goalie but to many recent injuries and they don't want to repeat what happened this season.

Scoreboard help so far tonight. Jets up 3-0 on Canes. Hopefully Ducks beat MTL

Not sure tbh. Maybe they don't feel he needs an audition and they're just going to try to sign him.

I can only assume that Gordon believes Elliott gives them the best chance to win until they are officially out.

He is the training partner of Carter Hart so his save percentage is not important.
Health of goalies was the bigger issue this year and he might be only the backup

That is the only logical reason for the trade. Record shattering season!

Also, yes to Hayes as a 2C is, other then a top 2 D, the biggest need for this team.

Ducks up by 2 on Habs. Could be huge for Philly if the Habs lose

Way too much being made of this, imo. He may be the back up, but my guess is that they don't want Hart playing 60 games next year, so Talbot would be getting a significant amount of games.

I'm with you. I'm not sure why a backup goaltenders save percentage wouldn't matter. They didn't trade for Talbot to be a workout buddy.
