Hutton and Stecher are still only B Dmen.
- VANTEL

They have both improved regardless of their overall high end talent.

Don just wants to take jab at me because I’m criticizing Green and he seems to disagree. Same as I criticized Stecher last year.

Guess I should just be a follower and not have an opinion unless it’s against Pouliot or biega

I still don’t like Hutton! His stupid grin irritates me and I’m not buying the hype

I think the Canucks have done a pretty good job of developing him into a serviceable NHL dman. That’s a job well done considering what they had to work with.

I think he is okay . He is a trade chip. He might help pull in a scoring second line player on a cap strapped team.

Or just keep him as a serviceable 3-4, 5-6 dman.
The biggest issue I see is his contract. Too much too soon which will cause him to be paid more than he’s worth in the future.

Belcher says he thinks others are open to change it is mostly my opinion that I say fans don't want to make changes.

We have one of the worst D groups in the NHL yet Tanev Stecher Biega are still under contract. Most people want or have come to the conclusion Edler is back . That is 4 of the 6 returning so when I mention trade Hutton i get these type of responses bring him back.

That then is 5 of the six returning. Does this fan base really want change or are they just saying they do?

I get the feeling a lot of the Eddie Lack syndrome from the fan base.

Since we are killing time waiting for Carol to drop another blog, I’m going to use this time to voice my outrage at the outrage over a fisherman throwing a fire cracker at a sea lion.
If anybody knows anything about fishing and B.C. sea lions they would understand why it’s done.
Really getting tired of people searching for things to be outraged about.

Not really. I was just thinking about Hutton as a separate situation, not in the context of next year’s roster.

Putting it into the context that you presented, yes of course you need to look for ways to improve your dcore. But you just traded a dman for a scoring forward. Now you’ve got to fill another hole on a roster full of holes. Like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. Lateral moves, much like the Pearson trade.

I mean we have become the leafs when they always thought they were ready to turn the corner. Over priced vet after over priced vet. Forget signing beagles and sitters etc. Spend as much money as possible on a proper management team and then toss money at players once we are ready. Steve Yzerman would be getting a brinks truck backed up to his house if I owned the team

Is it a coincidence that lu lam goes to a team and then always gets a world class coach as pretty much the first major move. Build from the goal out is incorrect. Build from the top of management down. No salary cap on management. Get it correct

Totally agree. He is actually an asset now and he was worthless a year ago.

Canucks are going to pay between 16 to 18 mil for three under preforming players in Edler Hutton and Boeser . That will leave them with about half their cap space and still need to re-sign 6 other RFAs .

That will leave them with about 10-12 mil to go out and fix the real problems.

Hutton is -20 and a 20 pt player that will want around 4 mil. Sautner who is a 800 K player who makes a lot less errors. . I keep throwing Benns name out as an example has more points than Hutton would cost less (at least half) and bring some toughness.

With the current roster we keep finishing around 5 th or 6 th from the bottom. It is time to either move forward or backwards , and make improvements or get better picks.

I know this is a bizarre thing to say but I know everything there is to know about Steller sea lions. I’ve worked for DFO and UBC studying them. I’ve raised them from pups. I’ve trained them for Van Aquarium. I’ve spent way too much time on a seine fishing vessel.

The people who get upset are usually the people with the least knowledge of the subject.

Stecher, tanev, edler. Everyone else can go. Hutton has played well, but with Stecher. Not convinced. I’d like to see a few new faces, obvioiusly qh is one but at least one other would be nice. Let the kids battle for the last two spots. Hutton has made himself tradeable.

Canuck fans like Pearson? I didn’t know that, the couple of games I’ve watched him in a Canucks jersey were kinda meh.

Well they don’t dislike him like Pens fans do, that’s for sure.

The Dunning-Kruger effect:

The Dunning-Kruger effect is a type of cognitive bias in which people believe that they are smarter and more capable than they really are. Essentially, low ability people do not possess the skills needed to recognize their own incompetence. The combination of poor self-awareness and low cognitive ability leads them to overestimate their own capabilities.

The term lends a scientific name and explanation to a problem that many people immediately recognize—that fools are blind to their own foolishness. As Charles Darwin wrote in his book The Descent of Man, "Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge."

Could be said of all of our GM skills too 😜

Video of fisherman throwing cracks at a herd of sea lions so they don’t eat their catch. They been doing forever, especially on the bigger commercial ships.

It scares them off so you can haul your catch in. Public outrage will force DFO to react unnecessarily.

The people that think he is worth 7 mil are no better than Benning.

Give the guy a 3 year bridge deal . See what type of player he really is because if it wasn't for his shot you would be looking at Goldobin money
