I agree on both. I'm willing to give Green another year. I actually don't mind what he has done considering the chicken poop he's had to work with.

True that he has been given chicken poop to work with, but he has taken that solid poop and turned it into a diarrhea slurry poop.

I’m a pessimist, so option B across the board. I’m basing this off of nothing but my miserable outlook on the team and the history of the current managent group, plus the constant reminder by several on here that Acqua will be all in on playoffs for the 50th season.

Lui, Sutter, Beagle, Granlund, Baertschi, Tanev, Edler aren’t going anywhere. There’s literally nothing on the farm that’s going to make this team better (yet). Yes, Hughes will almost certainly be here, and that will help, but next year will look a lot like this year. Some exciting play by the young guys paired with less exciting play by the old guys.

I expect Benning to make some big boy moves or at least try.

It is time to move on from Loui Tanev and Sutter . That would free up 9 mil. Tanev and Sutter taking up roster spots for half a year has to come to an end. Take whatever you can get. Loui just get him off the team say adios have a good life .

With proper coaching we would be a lock to make the playoffs!

I'll have to disagree with you there, there just isn't the talent on this team to make the playoffs. But with a proper coach you will have a team that is prepared to play from the drop of the puck, a coach that knows how to make in game adjustments.

I could go on but you know what I was referring to.

Thank you all!

Both in my music and sports jobs, my main goal has been to be accepted as an equal, where gender is largely irrelevant. I also aim to be a woman who supports other women as representation in both industries slowly increases.

Support from men is important, too. Thanks to Ek for giving me this opportunity, and to you all for hanging out and reading my ramblings for the past six seasons!

- Carol Schram

Honestly Carol you are the best blogger on this site and it's an honour to have you here and representing the Canucks.
Job well done.

there isn't a poster in here who could keep up with a junior B hockey player, and I would put money on that.

Again, Saying Derick Pouliot sucks, and then having someone rush to his defense to say "well he could still run circles around you" is a given. Lets not get too caught up in Pouliots feelings regarding what we say about him at the NHL level, and lets not need to re-inforce the clarity, that opinions about players at the NHL level, are in reference to them in the league that they play in, and not in the sport in general lol...

- Codes1087

I'll take that challenge any day of the week and twice on Sundays bro.

In my mens league in Central AB we play with a ton of ex-pro's, AAA mens players, ex Junior A players you name it. At 48 years young I have no issues with the speed...it's the stamina that ends up killing me at this age...lol

Anyone who believes this team will be “good” next year is an idiot.

Better?

Sure, but the bar has been set pretty low. Being better isn’t much of an accomplishment. At least not yet.

- 1970vintage

The west isnt good either though. I’d put money on the finish very close to wildcard spot next year.

If he could make those things happen, and then not screw it all up by doubling down on stupid I will change my tune

But until then, I’ll continue to be a Debbie downer.

Sounds like Virtanen has been cleared for contact. Could be back in the lineup as early as tomorrow

If you believe the Canucks will improve, isn’t it possible at least some of the other bubble teams will too? I think the Avs, Yotesand Oil all improve. Maybe the Wild continue to slip, but it’s going to get harder not easier.

Eriksson is an easy one to move . Tell him to fuk off and come back when he is better

The other two could be moved for lower picks

I was yelling at my TV in frustration as Derrick Pouliot and Alex Biega circled around their own zone as the final seconds ticked away, wondering why they were on the ice. But of course Travis Green was pretty much alternating them with the Edler-Stecher pairing as he tried to generate that tying goal; Ashton Sautner played just three shifts in the third period and Luke Schenn played four.
-Carol

And yet Green is still given a pass with his ice time management, "Edler followed up his 27:06 of ice time against Toronto with a 29:25 night in Edmonton, while Stecher played 27:47 on Wednesday and 26:50 on Thursday."

On back to back nights if you don't have faith in the players you dress and resort to running certain players into the ground, it's no wonder there are injuries.

Fire Green
Fire Brown
Fire Baumgartner

- Makita

He’s got very good reason to lean on Stecher/Elder. The rest are barely NHL calibre and you’re trying to win.

Sure other teams will improve but so will we. Only 4 pts out of 21st spot where we should finish and another 5 spots up next year flirting with the WC. Playoffs next year? well maybe not I'll give you that but this team will jump out of the bottom 10 IMO next season.

I have heard a few radio people say they think Benning is ready to move Loui even if to the Comets . Here is to hoping. Whatever line he plays on he makes worse.

That’s a good point. I don’t have too much of a reason ti think the oil will be better. Yotes and avs will for sure though. I still think avs make the playoffs even with landy out
