I was yelling at my TV in frustration as Derrick Pouliot and Alex Biega circled around their own zone as the final seconds ticked away, wondering why they were on the ice. But of course Travis Green was pretty much alternating them with the Edler-Stecher pairing as he tried to generate that tying goal; Ashton Sautner played just three shifts in the third period and Luke Schenn played four.
-Carol

And yet Green is still given a pass with his ice time management, "Edler followed up his 27:06 of ice time against Toronto with a 29:25 night in Edmonton, while Stecher played 27:47 on Wednesday and 26:50 on Thursday."

On back to back nights if you don't have faith in the players you dress and resort to running certain players into the ground, it's no wonder there are injuries.

Those would also all be rookie coaches woth just as much experience as Green with the exception of Eakins. Can’t say im thrilled by oilers sloppy seconds. Just an overall no. I’d take an established coach like Boucher, otherwise Green has done well

Yuk. Boucher plays a terrible system to watch. I hope we wouldnt just go to the retread pile.

Terrible to watch, effective defensively. There’s not a ton of talent out there, i might like McLennan(dont consider him so mucj oilers sloppy seconds). Unless hell has frozen over, I wouldnt expect to even hear back from Q. Better to stay with Green.

What about Kreuger of Southampton fame. By all accounts he did a great job with a really bad team in Edmonton.

do they have any of their own draft picks on the team yet?

there were given a very unique opportunity and have made the most of it.

a lot of their success came from chemistry but they've been able to solidify a lot with statsny, pacioretty and now stone

maybe hughes and our next draft pick + a ufa or 2 puts us in a better position then we can look at going after a big trade with our hopefully excess assets

but as someone said before, there are a lot of teams in a similar position (colorado, edmonton, phoenix etc) which is why i think it could take time, but maybe we can be next years hurricanes?

A team should realistically only be bringing about one draft pick every year or two . If you are bringing on three rookies a year chances are you will not have a good team.

Vegas has not brought on any picks yet because there is no need to rush their prospects. This is the first year they could have called a draft pick to play for them but why would they? They were SC finalists last year.

I was joking but Canucks can make three big moves next year that could change things. One thing that will not change things is bringing back the same roster.

Well he didnt but he’s shown to have good talent since then. Another guy i cant imagine being brought here. When’s the last time we attracted a high profile coach?

Honestly, I personally feel there are privacy issues sometimes. I'd rather not get into a whole discussion about it but as a father i'm rather happy my teenage girls won't have to share public washrooms with a bunch of men, as an example.

Isn't it annoying to see Vegas do so well?

I know they had a good lottery setup and didn't have to share it with anyone but still. We've had over 45 years and made the Cup final 3 times. We've rarely been a top team in the league with a few exceptions.

You would need to offer him Babcock money to give up his role as Chairman of. priemere league football team.

Aquaman can afford it. He saved so much money on the SOPA development here in kelowna that tile is falling off the exterior walls

Are you (frank)en serious man?

Tippett 1141 games coaching in the NHL
Hartley 944
Richards 424
Sutter 1285
Dineen 146 plus another 7 seasons as an Asst in the NHL.

Rookie coaches?

Yeah Guy Boucher and his 428 NHL games coached has so much more experience than my entire list.

(frank) you, don't talk to me.

my point there is that we have to wait for our draft picks.

they got a whole team and their draft picks havent even been a factor yet (besides trade chips - and we know what the response to that would be like around here)

I'm not suggesting they are.

Also, the Panther made the finals relatively quickly but have been mostly a mess since. I still find it annoying however.
