If the Chicago GM had a labotomy...but the Kane we get will be a re-animated/Pet Semetary Kane.....or the Walternate Kane.
Or.....the Monkey Paw Kane...... |

The Flyers I would think are becoming an attractive to to play for with all the youth and potential to be a very good team.
Why would Farabee want to pursue being a UFA and leave money on the table.
If I was him i would leave college as soon as I could turn pro ie phantoms or Flyers.
Lots of kids going the college route now so it’s not as if they are only playing college hockey because of limited choices.
The mock drafts have the flyers picking Newhook who has a pretty good scouting report. He is going to Boston College.
These guys are playing against older guys in college and imo may help accelerate their development. |

Just to be clear and on the same page, the Leafs are not in a position of strength here.
If it does come to a holdout we need to be on that doorstep with a basket of goodies.
EDIT: there is a reason he is not extended yet. - DrMidnite
They'll make it work. He's one of the best players in the league for pete's sake. Dubas isn't stupid. |

If you are looking to get Marner the price tag likely is
Voracek, Sanheim, 1st for Marner, Zaitsiev - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I think they'd want Konecny or Paterick over Voracek. You wouldn't get Zaitsev back.

Our #1 + Sanheim + Raffl = Marner? - DrMidnite
No thanks on moving Sanheim , not with how he appears to be developing.
I think with Provy, Sanheim you have the possibility of a first d pair. |

Could he become a free agent or be re-drafted if he stays in school though?
EDIT, I mean Farabee - DrMidnite
I'm worried about a lot of those guys hanging at school 4 years and going the Vessey route. Allison is at the top of my "worry" list. |

I may be looking too far into the d pairings but anyone else find it impressive that Myers is paired with Ghost. Ghost has struggled this season and for them to put Myers with him says a lot about his ability and potential. - cdearth23
Also gives Ghost a D partner that is big, has reach And can skate with him. Nice top 4. Gudas Haag and Morin fill out the last two spots. No bonus for the other team with a rotation of those three net front. They all hit. |

Just imagine what you said...
1-4 of Provy, Sanheim , Meyers and Ghost.
5-8 of Haag, Morin and Gudas.
Yes please.
Now I think one of them gets moved before next season but hey it's fun to be excited about that. |

It’s been a-game-at-a-time mentality for weeks now. 15 games to go. Still have to take things one shift, one save, one period, and one game at a time. Except now, they also must avoid a regulation loss like the plague of death that it is.
You never know if other teams will give us some help by slumping. By projections of normal wins by teams, the Flyers may be able to have one more regulation loss and still squeak into the final playoff spot. However...the best approach would be to keep that lucky silver dollar in their backpocket, never intending to spend it.
Just win this game. Let’s go Flyers! |

Here's the rule:
If a Player drafted at age 18 or 19 is a bona fide college student at the time of his selection in the Entry Draft, or becomes a bona fide college student prior to the first June 1 following his selection in the Entry Draft, and remains a bona fide college student through the graduation of his college class, his drafting Club shall retain the exclusive right of negotiation for his services through and including the August 15 following the graduation of his college class. The Club need not make a Bona Fide Offer to such Player to retain such rights.
I don't know the particulars on Farabee.
Edit: he then becomes UFA.
This was what Jimmy Vessey did.
Interesting note: he is only eligible for an entry level contract, so there can't be a bidding war. - Atomic Wedgie
Not sure why we (not saying you) are concerned about Farabee not signing here |

I also don't think they move a D before the season. We still don't know what Sammy brings. He plays like we hope that could make Haag expenable. Possibly the development of Sanhiem and Meyers makes Ghost expendable. I would like them to stand pat till we see what we have. |

he is also a Philadelphia fan (father from the area) so I doubt he doesn't want to play here.

I'm more concerned about Allison at this point. He didn't bite last year then got injured. |

I wasn't aware of dad being from the area. Feel a bit better. We have a lot of kids in college and they can all go UFA after graduation. You don't see it a lot but usually one or two good players get away from their draft team. The Flyers should be a prime landing spot for our guys now. They can see all the young guys here, playing big minutes and being successful. |

You can play 6 defenseman a game. I'm not understanding how any of those players developing make another expendable.

teams coming off their bye week that play their first game at home are 13-20 over the last 2 years. Straight up not against the spread. Might have to place some bets next year! |

He's playing 20 minutes a game for Mike Babcock. He's not awful.
