The Sabres called up the wrong guy. Asplund has been very good in this game.

Nice pressure on that play and good pass from Olofsson to find Asplund.

Wonder if Rochester brings up 4 or 5 guys together, beginning next season?

Similar to Miller, pommer, Roy, goose and vanek.

Maybe chris Taylor too?

Asplund showing the Sabres who should be next

They have a good team down there and should be fun to watch them in the playoffs. I have no idea what happens next year but these kids have gotten some good experience this year.

I'm not a big fan of Taylor personally. His lineup decisions are hard to understand sometimes. An example is he played Paetsch today instead of Dougherty. I wanted to see Dougherty play.

It's a bad decision because you wanted to see Dougherty play or because Dougherty is better than Nathan?

What does this have to do with the 10th leading goal scorer in buffalo sabres history?

You have no idea how he would have reacted.

Casey and his 4 nhl goals in 80 games should have been cut yesterday

Kaiser- you're better then this

- Boss34

I have both anecdotal and empirical support to suggest how Pomminville would have reacted: the good (but outdated) people at HockeyFIghts.com tell me that in his entire career, Pomminville has one fight, nine years ago in 2010. (He lost, in a fight that got rated 2.4 out of 10)

https://www.hockeyfights.com/players/15770

And, in a HUGE irony, what you call the "Gaustad incident," as an example of a non-response to a cheap shot on a star, is presumably the Lucic steamroll on Miller. You know who else was on the ice and failed to respond to that incident? Watch for yourself.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TERA-GY2K1o

So my bet is I know exactly how The Living Legend would respond.

From your different expectation of Casey and Goose, and from your response regarding career goals, it sounds like your idea is that different players on the roster have different roles. And that some guys should be expected to react and blamed for failing to do that. And that it's OK for other guys to be a P**sy

That's a wild concept. I wonder why it doesn't apply to Casey.

Hows that for better?

Probably a little bit of both but Paetsch hasn't played much this year. Taylor seems to sit Dougherty too much. Just an opinion.

Flacco needs to be an average qb for Denver to go 8-8

What has worked for Toronto? They haven't advanced in years?

Winnipeg and calgary hardly tanked.

They jumped up for laine in the lottery for Winnipeg
Calgary found johnny hockey late in the draft and tkachuk like 6th overall

You feeling alright?

- Boss34

Scheifle, Laine, Trouba, Morissey, Ehlers were all top 13 picks. Last time I checked you have to miss the playoffs to draft that high. Connor was picked 17th and that was their lone playoff appearance since last season.

Monahan, Bennett, Tkachuk we’re drafted where ?

How about Reilly, Kadri, Nylander, Matthews, Marner ?

A playoff game in Buffalo would be a great idea for the Amerks. Not sure if that can be done or not.

I thought they have in the past.

Maybe it was a regular season game.

Definitely the strike year

Trading for ROR set this team back 5 years. Could of had Laine/Matthews/Dubois/Tkchuck but our sprint to 8th last is what Tim Murray had in the cards for us. Cart before the horse. Thank you GMTM your services will be missed. At least Botts let the team self implode so we could at least have Dahlin to salvage for our misfortunes.
- Pegullaville

Gonna have to disagree, prob wouldn’t have Dahlin on our team if we got one of above players over nylander. Rather have Dahlin (maybe Matthews would of changed my mind)

Probably dont care because it doesn't have anything to do with rooting for the Sabres to lose?
- Boss34

Interesting to me that fans chid another for the atrocious on-ice performance by the team.
Who gives a crap if a fan see the brightside of the team losing. The chiding of another fan is simply misplaced frustration with the play of the team.
You are not wrong to be frustrated with their disappointing play this season...but you yourself said you were on the tank train previously and defended Botts for driving the tank last season to improve the odds for Dahlin.
So really, what is the difference?
I root for them to win every game, I also see the benefit of selecting a better player by finishing say 24th than 28th.
But to each there own I guess
