Press conference with Jim - looks like he had a fresh box of Just For Men
Talks about Quinn, safeguarding him against Seattle draft, when he'll suit up, Lockwood contract, Hutton injury, Hopefully signing D college FA, Edler/Tanev always being injured/trades/contract

If only he grew it a little longer so he could do that thing that hipsters do where they flip it across their forehead - Bieber style, that'd be so tight. |

nah that was old school hipster
now it’s long hair in a man bun, a beard and glasses while reading/writing a novel in Starbucks or vaping
edit: forgot to mention the undersized beanie as a substitute for the man bun |

Doesn’t mean he didnt come out of Utica more prepared/looking improved. Some guys need a month, some need a season. |

Auld taking a bite out of his co-host who is peddling worries about EP's legitimacy in light of his end of season slump.
Kids a rookie who blew all other rookies away and exceeded everyone's expectations = are you worried?
Edit: its not Auld. |

Thanks for the share. Nice to hear he expected Juolevi up here this year, i figured as much. He seems commited to revamping the D and focusing on the draft. That’s the exact two things i want him to focus on. |

I don’t listen much these days unless I’m on the road during a game, but I like Auld’s analysis. He’s not too much of a homer and doesn’t incite drama either. He’s not afraid to call out a player for having a bad game either. - Nucker101
Im a big fan of him on the radio. Aside from him talking from experience and having credibility, he is the anti group think and will turn on his hosts that brainlessly enforce it. Respect.

Would love to see him replace the legendary John Garrett when he retires |

I agree we suck - the D is not good - but the list of UFA D is not enticing. For example can Gardiner replace Edler? Or Myers instead of Tanev? If you can believe it he's been more injury prone than both Tanev and Edler together. I don't have the answer how to fix the D but I don't think its through a complete overhaul by means of UFA - and trading is extremely hard no matter who the GM and what assets you have. - Brooks_Light
Why do people always think of Free Agency? It is one of the worst ways to build a team |

Agreed - I think we resort to it because we know Jims track record with trading

I would look at Vegas this summer . As Mr Brooks pointed out their cap is extremely screwed next year. We are not talking a little out of wack ,we are looking at Code red.
A very simple UFA signing would be 36 year Engelland (UFA) at 1 year 1.2 mil. I would ask them if they wanted us to take David Clarkson and a first for Gaunce .
I understand the Edler coming back but it really is a mistake and should only be if there is short term and hometown discount. As I mentioned a few times paying 6 mil a year for a guy that misses 22 games a year and puts up 25 points on average is not spending your money well.
I would make all top picks a Dman this year and Benning should use that cap space to take on one or two bad contracts for a year or two with prospects and picks coming back.
Make a decent trade for a 2RHD also. |

The point just went right over your head didn't it?
I never called him a #1, once. I merely cited a scenario where he was signed and quite frankly IMO, Gardiner and Hughes will be better than either Edler or Tanev next season.... - chompsey
Gardiner is gonna get 7x7m and he doesn't know how to find his way dancing past his own blueline. He's an older, slower version of what we want Hughes to be. He also plays for the team with the easiest travel and plays sheltered minutes sp he doesn't get hurt as much.
Book it, if we sign him he'll be injured 20 games next season and will be a consistent minus player for us. No thanks. |

Im not a Gardiner fan myself. He seems to be a weak link for someone so "elite".
