Sorry I offended you, but I don't need to evaluate something I know sucks.
Since Brackett has been here , not including his Q picks.
09 Schroeder Cannata
10 McNally
11 Labate
12 Beattie
13 Liberati
14 Demko
15 Boeser Gaudette
16 Lockwood
17 Rathbone
18 Hughes Madden
Again, I stand by my opinion, that Brackett has shown improvement under the guidance and direction of Benning. - Reubenkincade
You make a pretty good case here IMO.

Its easy to see the American pics improved during the time Benning was here. You are actually the first to show us this. You put up a good argument. |

Vegas started like a 2nd team Allstars team so what do you expect.
They bypassed the whole build from the ground up process everyone else had to do in expansion. |

Not sure how you took that as me being offended lol
You make a good point about him being overrated but I doubt Benning, who can’t evaluate NHL dmen somehow has taught Brackett that much lol |

Ron Delorme was a cancer to the drafting and scouting of talent.
Gillis started to change this and Benning has built on that. |

Hughes will probably get injured in his few games and miss all his summer conditioning. If he doesnt, I don't think his heart is really with the Canucks. Lone Wolf. |

It’s been repeated time and time again by people who have or used to work in the NHL that GM’s heavily rely on scouts once they get past the top 30-50 of their draft board.
I give Benning full credit for both promoting Brackett, and for the EP/Boeser picks. |

Pettersson came from the recommendation of Delorme. Ron Delorme might be responsible for the most iconic draft pick in Canucks history. The Irony writes itself.

For those of you that think the sky is falling. Pittsburgh rankings from 2001-2006. 26th, 29th, 30th, lockout, 29th. Washington 2003-2007 28th, lockout, 27th, 27th. Chicago 2000-2008 22nd, 9th, 17th, 29th, lockout, 28th, 26th, 20th. LA 2002-2009 18th, 20th, lockout, 20th, 28th, 29th, and 26th. Now tell me do you want a team that’s going to make the playoffs or a team that’s going to win the cup?! If you want the cup. Shut your face, quit your whining and embrace the suck!! The last thing we need is Benning changing the rebuild philosophy. Just to please negative whining journalists and impatient fans. |

Tyler Madden prospect profile says the first thing he would do when getting his signing bonus would be buying a car for his mother.
His dad made 23 million in career earnings... He can't buy his wife a car? |

yeah those draft videos are pretty awesome actually - it's interesting to see Benning lean on Brackett and Weisbrod sometimes and other times make his own call - all the while doing his best Kevin from the Office impression. |

Boeser wasn't a no brainer... 20 something picks went ahead of him.... Maybe 3 for sure or 5 in a stretch still pan out that way looking back. The guy was a steal at 23. |

You can cherry pick the 3rd pair dman, but their forward lines weren't your typical expansion draft cast offs. |

I think both were instrumental in that pick.
They convinced Benning to travel to Sweden for a personal scouting trip, too watch Petterson. |

The group of fire JB guys has been since the 2017 season have been Lefty, New York, Nucker, Vantel, Codes, Marwood, Might be a few others that didn't get into the poll. - manvanfan
I think you can go back further than 2017 and find even more people than that without trying too hard. |

Three or four teams gave away good players. Pitt Fla CBJ come to mind but look at Neale last year and this year same with Perron
Go check how many of the drafted players are still with the team. They did not select a team of all stars they had some excellent management that turned drafted players into Reeves Pacoretti Stone
They had a coach that took a bunch of cast offs and turned them into believers. |
