See above, but I think he floats when he doesn't see that they have a chance at the game or at a playoff spot. Not the best trait, but that's when I've noticed it the most. - pdx2ord
Saw it. He likes playing with AA, tho.
I respect your opinion but I think some people are projecting here. Watch him on the ice. I am a fan of Kane and him floating irritates me. I haven't noticed it at all. |

FWIW. 3rd liners don't get 20 minutes of ice time. |

This is Kunitz' o'clock.
If the Hawks can make the horse race interesting, expect 14 to be far more impactful. |

Really looking foward to that Hawk/Leaf game. It's going to be a good way to end this exam week. |

No it is just my childish reaction to a post the other day about Perlini needing to accept a bottom six role like Frolik.
Frolik since he left plays 2nd and 3rd line minutes and has been solid. A big part of Calgarys ascent. - TrueGrit
True, but it's the Hawks who groomed him to be that kind of player that he is today why can't they do that with Perlini |

Right because he was learning how to play defense, but if Perlini is as good as Frolik that's a bonus for the Hawks. - BetweenTheDots
I will take that but Frolik didn't need to learn how to play defense. He was already good at it. |

Just adding to your point...I have been saying for a while it is a top 9 league, not a top 6. Clearly JC wants to outskate and overwhelm opponents, with 3 lines that can score, he wants to role them indiscriminately. Try matching up if you are an opponent.
He actually wants all 4 lines to do this like Tampa. Tampa has over 30 goals from 4th line this season. |

Respectfully, Frolik is from the Hossa mold. He was a solid 2 way player when he got here. For many their historical point of view starts when a guy arrives in Chicago. Fro was solid beyond the head band eyebrows long before. |

Can we outlaw the soft back hand pass in our zone (especially when they are often right into slot). That would greatly improve team D.
There is now one forward coming back on the back check (which is an improvement). But I think the 2nd and 3rd forwards are on a coffee break. Because it is often 4 v 3 or even 5 v 3 in our zone. You want to improve team d, lets get all 5 players back checking.
Watch Sikura closely. On the forecheck he gets in position to put a body on some and pulls up one stride every time. He is a little guy I get it. But he can at least put a body and them and slow them down leaving their zone. Take one more stride and engage the opponent.

If the attitude and mindset is as positive as some say it is in that locker room, here’s hoping Brendan Perlini dedicate himself to the same workout regimen that some of his teammates did last year, and probably will do this summer. It would probably benefit him by staying in Chicago all summer. He is definitely a Darkhorse with all The makings of a decent second or third line left winger. - wonthecup10
Am behind on posts — kane just scored to make it 5-1 — but have to comment on Perlini’s recent play. Really nice reception on the first goal and put himself into the right position on the second.
Read his recent interview where he talked about realizing that failing in a game isn’t a life-or-death situation. He cited watching the Free Solo documentary in helping him put it into perspective.
I’m a flat lander, born and bred. My idea of a mountain is one of the mount garbages ringing Chicago. The Free Solo documentary is pretty amazing... about 90 minutes in when Alex Honnold finally starts his 3,000 vertical climb. It’s pretty amazing what the guy sets out to do and accomplished in under 4 hours. Highly recommend the documentary...available on demand on the National Geographic channel.

But don't they have one of the best Ds in the league? I think this is just an off night for them honestly. |
