Why not lines 2a
Saad Anisimov Kane
2b
ADB, Strome Kahun
2c
Toews, Cagiulla, ???
4
Perlini, Kampf, Kreuger - LAHawk
Sure things. Anything can happen this summer as we wait to see how the roster evolves.
Personally I'd like to see Saad play away from Toews and Kane. Get him on a line with an experienced Anisimov plus another experienced top 9 forward, preferably a center, like Nelson. Or keep Anisimov as a center and get another winger like Ferland. Doesn't need to be those exact players but someone of that mold.
If a 3rd line like that can be built, then I'd feel more comfortable keeping Toews and Kane together (and Strome with DeBrincat).
As it stands today, top 9 wing options (in house): Kahun, Perlini, Caggiula, Sikura.
He could be "just a guy" but I'm interested in what Kubalik has to offer. He's one of many wild cards going into next season. |

I would not want to spend a top-10 pick on a goalie but I would love for Stan to package the 2nd round pick with something to move their second pick up to get goalie Spencer Knight. |

Coincidentally, Draftsite has the Hawks drafting Spencer Knight in the 2nd round (as rankings stand today).

It will be interesting to see what Vancouver does with Quinn Hughes now that they signed him after his NCAA season ended. Most likely they keep him under 10 games this season but I'm more interested in where they play him next season - Vancouver or the AHL? His situation is similar to Boqvist in that they could both probably play in the NHL next season on the offensive side of the puck but from what I saw of Hughes in the WJC he isn't any better defensively than Boqvist - and he's smaller. Hughes is a whirling dervish on skates but Boqvist has a better shot and is a more well rounded offensive player than Hughes. |

If you actually get Barlage get excited.
The kid has all the tools, but because he was so huge as a 15 year old his skating never really developed properly. He's worked on it a lot, and once it gets where it needs to be he's going to be a real bastard to play against. |

I wouldn't count on Knight falling to #38.
Hmmm ... that site has the Hawks picking at #7 and Turcotte still available at that spot - I like these guys. |

Not because of the age factor but wasn't Ferland similar where his skating was really poor but he worked hard at improving and it has paid dividends in his effectiveness as a nasty power forward.
EDIT: It may have been Ferland's fitness level that was questionable at the start of his pro career but skating may have been related. |

Logan Barlage.
6'4, 200 lb C for Lethbridge in the WHL. Went 4th overall in the WHL draft and is currently ranked #211 for the upcoming one.
Dude is huge and has real good hands, but he could hardly skate when he first made the WHL. He slows the game down and does a good job of keeping control in the offensive zone, but still needs to improve his skating.
Had 37 goals and 76 points in 44 games as a 15 year old playing against guys that were 17 and 18 years old. If he can get his skating where it needs to be he'll be a huge steal. |

Ferland was also battling alcoholism when he first got into the league. |

It's true, I did.
Also when not taking a break. It's amazing what they let you get away with in the rinks out here. |

Pretty much. Personally I think he'll get there and be a solid 3C type guy at the NHL level, but he may just stay slow and end up one of those career AHL/Europe guys. |

Scoring for Kane, Toews, Cat, Strome and Gustafsson have slowed down lately ... and so has the power play. Coincidence? I think not. |
