The Eichel hit is worthy of a DPOS review. Head is the principle (and sole) point of contact.

The Jake hit looks nothing like that. He doesn't pick his head, the guy is barreling toward him, and led with his face.

Yet same suspension.

The head was the principle point of contact. Boychuk didn't lower his head causing the contact to the head. Voracek raised up into him and initiated contact. I haven't seen the Eichel play so I can't comment yet.

W/O V in the line up tonight hurts our depth for sure. He has been playing a pretty tough game lately and will be missed.

This game is the kind we drop after beating some better teams. Like Coots was saying that they need to start right out of the gates on this one.

Bill, with all due respect I think you are giving the NHL too much credit. It doesn't know what its doing and the inconsistency is proof that it hasn't yet figured out what it wants to be. I'll say it again, suspensions are a way for the NHL to move liability away from itself and on to the players in future lawsuits... You'll see it argued in court in 10 years time.

How do you know he wasn't defending himself? Jake gets the benefit of the doubt here because he has a spotless record. Girlchuck does not.

So with the call up for the Canadians is price hurt ? If so they are screwed. Without him they are a train wreck

I'd be more comfortable with that. Kid's been out quite a while and we want to throw him out vs the caps? Who knows I guess, hart would probably come out and stand on his head.. just not used to that kind of ability in our tenders.
