I'd have gotten Voracek's suspension revoked and Boychuk suspended.

The appeal was not a mistake. The appeal was about reducing the suspension from 2 games to 1. The rest of Mr. Bettman’s response simply reflects the honesty that Voracek shows in telling his side of the story. Not everyone appreciates honesty, unfortunately. Clearly, fairness was also not a consideration in view of prior rulings. - NC Flyers Fan
I didn't state that the appeal was a mistake.

So I just read the article indicating that the Flyers are gonna push hard Panarin or Karlsson.
First, no to Karlsson. He is unnecessary here.
As for Panarin, he could help us. There is no question but he Panarin doesn’t solve areas like size, toughness and grit. Panarin doesn’t solve how thin we are in the bottom six. Simmonds for example isn’t doing so well with Nashville by an offensive standpoint. I think any chance of him getting a long term six million dollar deal is dying by the day. I would still take Simmonds but he’ll have to accept lesser money in a lesser role. I think the Flyers should be looking into more size, more grit, no matter what their name is. - SuperSchennBros
I’d much rather Panarin. If their going after Karlsson ghost will be traded. I’d have to watch Karlsson this playoffs to come to a conclusion of where his game is but today I don’t like the idea of going after him. Buying him at a premium while selling ghost at a discount isn’t very good cap/asset management |

they very well COULD trade Ghost if they pick up Karlsson....but i think that would be dumb. he's got 60 point ability at a great price. adding Karlsson to this existing young D core would be fantastic. he'll be a TRUE number 1, and take off some of the pressure on Provy and Ghost, allowing them to just freak out!
i love Karlsson, so maybe i'm just bias, but he's still one of the top 10 best players in the NHL. if he wants to come to philly, break out the check book. no need to move any other dmen

You are correct. Even if it means, they opt to trade Ghost down the road. Getting Karlsson does not mean they have to trade Ghost now.

There was no semantics in my post. It was clear. If they argued the legality of Voracek's actions that was a loser before it started. That was my point. If you need further clarification on a statement I've made, I'm happy to provide that. |

Karlsson is going to command a very high cap hit. As the Flyers younger players need new contracts, that is going to limit the Flyers flexibility moving forward. Someone is going to have to go. Karlsson is also the type of player you want to allow to freak out. Keep Gostisbehere and go after a lesser player to fill a role,

No thanks!!!
Why would anyone need more clarification of your made up poop? The Mr. Bettman letter stated very clearly that the request was to reduce the length of suspension from 2 games to 1.
I frankly don’t need you attacking me. Your PM the other day calling me a liar (“full of it”), is all I’ll ever need to know about you.

This is copied and pasted from my post that you replied to that you apparently missed. If in upper case is my emphasis.
" I don't know what the basis for the appeal was but IF they were arguing the hit happened differently, that was a mistake"
Nothing in my replies to you is attacking you. |

why can't everyone freak out man!
also, we have the cap space to take a Karlsson contract. we most likely can't do BOTH Karlsson and Panarin, but we can definitely do one of em'.
neither really solves the main issue IMO, which is getting another 2C. Push Patrick to earn that spot in the beginning of the year....if he can't we have a great 3C! Not alot of options tho for that.

I don't think the statement of "I don't know what the appeal was based on" needs further explanation.
On what basis did Voracek and his representation argue that the suspension should be reduced to one game. That's the point. |

Even doing one of them leaves the Flyers in a tight spot moving forward. In terms of Karlsson, the Flyers have a really good defense corps developing. Why not let them continue to do that rather than getting into a 7 year 11-12M cap hit deal with a player around 30. |

because:
1. he's better than all of our defenseman right now and probably will be for at least the next 4 years. i'm all in for getting better players.
2. Dmen like Karlsson play until they are 40 man, and at a high enough level that won't make the end of that deal look TOO bad at all.
3. this young defense corps will develop just as fine with him as without him. might as well add a legit superstar to your lineup! |

I'd pass on Karlssson. His contract is too expensive and the Flyers are set moving forward on defense. |

Much rather go for Panarin or a Center to keep G at wing and allow Patrick to grow more |
