Teves is on a one-year deal, will join Canucks immediately. Will get new contract in the summer.

To clarify: the one-year deal is for *this* season, so expires in April. He'll be RFA then. But CBA only allows for a one-year deal because of his age.

He was at Canucks' development camp last summer.

I seen a comment from Benning today saying if Edler and Sutter were healthy for 80 games that Canucks would have made the playoffs. Not something I want to hear just before Free Agency

He's stockpiling as many fast, puck moving two way guys as possible IMO. I like it, His response to having zero offence from d for 5 years is to stock the cupboards with guys that can. Can teach a guy to defend better if he's smart, hard to teach offensive stuff/skating.

CBA is super confusing. Teves deal is 1 year, and is for this year only. He becomes an RFA this summer because of his age (24). VAN is having him report directly to VAN, so if he plays 1 game this year for Canucks, he is ineligible to play for the Comets. I am guessing they are giving him an opportunity right away to jump in and play.

He also said that he wanted a high draft pick.... so the tank is no longer stealth. It'll take some hard work but I could see us going 2-7-4 down the strech.

Could be, I think he becomes a RFA right away so the idea is to get him in right away and re-sign later. It appears to be two-way so I'm not convinced we see him in a Canucks uni but nice little boost to Utica.

I hope he doesn't but you may be right. The more I watch the kid the more I like. Not huge, but big and smooth. gritty but does't really throw much in the way of big hits. Offence is very good, defence is very good position/IQ wise.
