They can’t show them on US TV - they were speaking Canadian. - StLBravesFan
Eh? |

Also - look at the first two periods - Toronto put a lot of pressure on the defense - lots of shots in the house, lots of good scoring chances - but they protected Crawford nicely with blocks (21 thru two periods, IIRC) and clears.
Let’s take that away from this game, too. - StLBravesFan
Agreed - they played very good team defense through the first 40 minutes - actually for about the first 45 minutes. Good 5-man unit defense just the way it's supposed to be played and then the wheels fell off.

I'm not sure Chychryn or Manson fit the bill. Neither are top pairing guys so I wouldn't spend any cap space on guys that don't meet the need for a legitimate shutdown d-man that can play top minutes against the opposing team's top players. - EbonyRaptor
I expect Bowman to trade for two big, young, promising defenseman and give up only one expendable player for them. |

Can we terminate keith`s and seabrook`s contracts, they look like two old men that should hang them up. Enough already! - GlennL

I think Keith had more time than he realized and he could have made a better play IMO. I haven't watched the replay, so maybe I'll change my mind after seeing it again, but just seemed like he rushed it. - breadbag
He did. its why I think it was a play they set up. There is no other reason for Saad to fly the zone in that situation. They were under siege and Keith probably wanted to get it out. He never looked. He was already winding up before he got to the puck. |

Twenty (frank)ing six out of twenty nine saves in the 3rd period, this is on team defense not doing there job, but no let's blame the rookie goalie for almost losing. I know if Forsberg was out there we go to OT. - BetweenTheDots
I'm not "blaming" Delia and he was by no means the only Hawks player worthy of criticism. But I also don't think criticism is out of bounds and he DOES have holes in his game which I don't think I'm out of line by pointing out. |

Not directed at you just smh - BetweenTheDots
He caused some of his own problems with his lack of rebound control. Comes with experience. He has a good skill set. He can and I believe he will learn from tonight and get better. |

Maybe the play was too ice the puck and Saad was hustling to save icing, but you know Keith and his weak shot |

Nobody said it will be easy and maybe "that" player isn't out there to be had - but I still don't want Stan to tie up cap space for a d-man on;y marginally better than what we already have.

Not if Bowman and company realize that 19 and 88 have CUP potential for a couple of years yet.
Need to trade for top dman like Chychryn or Manson this summer to be able to move 2 and 7 down in the pecking order.
Lots of good trade bait in AA, Saad, Murphy, Gus, Sikura and the younger high quality up and coming dmen. Again....that is if they really plan on trying for another CUP run.
This summer will tell us what direction they're thinking. - Hawkytalk
Why are they trading their young d-men prospects? I think the TDL sort of showed us what Bowman is thinking. |

Sounds like the flu came upon Corey Crawford suddenly. Colliton didn't know anything about it until the second intermission, when Crawford told head athletic trainer Mike Gapski he couldn't go.
Last thing we need right now is for the flu to go through the room (that is, unless you're someone on the tank train). |

Hawks are a young team, mostly. They're learning. Played a solid team, got out to a big lead, and held on for a big road win. I bet they'd have had a much better 3rd if Crow had been able to finish. Good sign for the long run, imo. |

No. This team should be tanking. They have no good young players and should be getting the highest draft pick possible. |

The good news is that Crow has 3 days to recover before the next game. |
