That’s not the flu, that’s a stomach virus or bacterial upset. The Flu (influenza) is more like a really bad cold...coughing, sneezing, aching, stuffy head, fever. - Ogilthorpe2
Whatever it was I'm just trying to steer the conversation away from Crawford having a concussion again like some seem to think they can identify by watching on tv |

Are Toews and Kane gonna be in the retirement home in two or three years? They are 30. They will play and be productive for more than two or three more years, maybe not all star level but the second line has 3 players 23 years old or younger that are scoring and can probably get better. They ha e no choice but to wait for their prospect dmen to mature and become nhl players and that's exactly what they should be doing. No trading prospects or picks to appease the impatient mouth breathers. - GPHawksfan
Not possible. Toews and Kane are toast. Toews has been washed up and in steep decline for the last two years. He could be in a walker in 2 or 3 years. And Kane playing the minutes he is...….

I had the real flu once a number of years ago. I was so sick I was bedridden for 2 days. Ever since experiencing I get the annual flu shot. This years strain seems to be the worst one in a while, my brother who denies science, spent 4 days in bed and needed his Doctor to do a housecall. Curious to see if he'll change his mind about getting the flu shots in future. |

You are right, but people do use the term "flu" a bit loosely and especially still often used when people have a stomach virus. There is a tendency to label it "stomach flu" or whatever, even if it is technically wrong. If CC was stuck on the john and couldn't go, it is easier for them to just say "flu" rather then getting into the details. |

Its a common play. Win the draw, offside winger flies the zone which makes the D leave the zone to cover you. The problem is the TO winger did not forcheck and went to the wall where he kept the puck in. I blame Keith for just thinking the play was automatic and did not look up to see he had time. Seabs did the exact same thing a few seconds later. What a waste of 2 solid faceoff wins to ice the game. - Boisy12
Wasting 2 faceoff wins sucks, and you might be right about the weak side winger flying the zone, but to me the worst thing was getting rid of the puck blindly. Both 7+2 did this. That's why it was a little more exciting than it should have been. |

My take was he couldn't go meant couldn't go play more hockey because he needed to sit on the pot. |

Dr. Ogie, you know this accurate description will undoubtedly draw in about 50 comments. By the end of it all we will have posts with links to players defecating on the ice and a certain someone demanding an end to the conversation becasue he is the authority on the screaming poops... |

I know, but the frequent misrepresentation of one illness for the other is a silly pet peeve of mine. |

Two weeks ago Perlini looked lost, he skated around seemingly in a fog, it looked like he had no idea what he was doing or what he was supposed to do and worst of all he looked disinterested and lazy. Then in the last 2 weeks or so it was like the movie Awakenings where suddenly the lights turn on and he wakes up from a slumber.
Last night I thought Perlini had his best game as a Blackhawk, better even than his night against the Coyotes. Perlini looked big, fast, strong and confident. That pass to ADB for his goal was amazing and he made other good smart plays. I won't get to far ahead of myself and claim he's the next whomever but he's been looking really good and I'd like to see him build on that. There are still weak parts of his game. He really has no idea what to do in his end when the Hawks are under pressure. He seems hesitant at times when he's forechecking. If he can enhance his game he could be really valuable and can be an all round player who is needed in all situations. I thought a couple of months ago that Bowman had won the trade just getting Strome, if this is the real Perlini, Bowman should be investigated for robbery. - paulr
He said the movie that helped make it click for him was “Free Solo”. The last 30 minutes of this documentary are amazing.

I read in the Chicago Tribune that Perlini has found a training partner and mentor in Artem Anisimov. Perlini credits AA with helping him have the proper mindset to succeed in the NHL. |

Edmonton Oilers defenceman Brandon Manning is being healthy scratched.... by the Bakersfield Condors.
The Oilers are now paying the guy who injured Connor McDavid $2.5 million to sit in the press box of AHL arenas.
This is peak Oilers. |

This is the most important thing he said.
The players/team recognize the parity of the league. Heck, right now, a couple over time wins and you flip 1 loss you are a playoff team. Outside of Ottawa, there are no doormats in the league, and even Ottawa plays hard every night.
- TrueGrit
Agreed. Never said a word about big and slow dmen. I'm looking for some toughness and also able to handle the puck.
If the same philosophy and same people are here next year, I don't see much change. Being LAST in the league is totally unacceptable. Change is needed.

They are playing at a 104 point pace over the last 35 games. If that ain't change or improvement, what would this change look like? |

Be careful not to take too much stock in the last 35 games. Yes they are playing better, yes they are winning more games but they are playing the wrong way if they want to be Stanley cup contenders and not regular season pretenders. Playing an all out run and gun game without being somewhat competant in your own zone may get lots of regular season points but it's a sure way of ensuring an early exit in the playoffs. Last night emphasized just how bad this team plays defense. That poopshow in the third period was similar to a game earlier against Tampa. Yes I love the improvement in offense and overall intensity of the team but unless they have the personell and are taught how to play some kind of defensive system there is no chance this team can compete for the cup. |

I’d be open to trading one or two prospects for some more immediate help, but it would have to be worth it for both now and in the long run. Can’t mortgage the future for the next two years, but if they can get someone who’s young enough to be a factor for 5-7 years then go for it. - Ogilthorpe2
Boqvist for truoba would you do that? |

Most of the big Western European Airlines are good. British Airways, Air France, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, KLM etc. Quantas. General rule of thumb is to stick with major airlines from first world countries. |
