Jay Beagle who has 3 goals and 6 assists this year, never had more than 13 goals and is 4 years older I would say is a comp. to Kruger signed for 4 X $3mil. in free agency last year. - LAHawk

So, if that is the case, then IT IS OK for someone to say that, especially on the ice? Is that what the NHL is saying? Please, you know that the only reason is that there is vested interest in Toronto being successful right now. They cannot jeopardize bad press in Toronto. - powerenforcer
Seems to me that the comments by the league and - especially - by Rielly and the Leafs - are very appropriate for the situation - each saying strongly (and not in statements written by attorneys) that such comments are not only inappropriate but opposed to the inclusiong that Rielly, the team, and the league are trying to accomplish.
None of the witnesses (including the official involved, and other officials) heard Rielly make the comment.
My guess (only a guess) is that they really cannot pin the comment down to any individual. |

I really like Beagle and the Caps will miss him in the playoffs this year. But they couldn't afford to match Van's offer who must have wanted him for veteran leadership on a very young team.
BTW - he missed a bunch of time injured this year so production numbers down. |

We are building a extremely very tall wall to keep your 737 Max 8 and 9's out of our airspace. The PM says so so it must be true. |

I would add Kampf to the list of forwards that are almost assured of having a spot in the lineup next season - especially since it seems Colliton has a bromance going with Kampf.
If Stan can sign Kubalik - there may be a clause similar to the one Kahun had where he would have an out to return to Europe if he doesn't make the Hawks - so if he's as good or better than Kahun - He would make the forward total 10. - EbonyRaptor
Kampf should definitely be there. Did someone fire AA into the sun?
Speaking of AA. Did anyone else notice at the end of the last game AA was missing? He is always last in the line. Kane was last game. AA and Toews have a ritual at the end of wins. |

So just saw this and found it incredibly worrisome:
Since 2017-18
The Cat- 65 Goals, 55 Assists, 120 pts
AM34- 65-39-124
How does the Cat not ask for 10 million? Also, how would we afford Panarin again? - nickmo2699
Matthews fewer games played. |

After intensive study and analysis, the Trump administration has announced that the US was groudning the 7l7 Max - ending our status as the world's only outlier.
"The safety of the American people, of all people, is our paramount concern," Mr. Trump said.

Didn't they say (someone on the broadcast or postgame) that AA missed the last ten minutes of the game?
Or am I thinking of someone else?
Or some other game?
Or some other sport?

Too soon to tell, but apparently the First Officer, who was flying, had all of 200 hours of flight experience. They’d have been better of with an average Private Pilot at the controls. |

Must have missed that. Just noticed he wasn't there. Must not have been serious cause they haven't called anyone up that I know. |

I haven't seen any tweets from the Hawks beat writers regarding the Hawks lineup tonight other than Crawford is starting. I'll assume AA is OK and the lineup will be the same as the last few games.
Kapanen being out hurts them but they have enough firepower where they shoudln't miss him too much. However, with Gardiner and Dermott out - their already questionable d-corps is worse. Reilly-Hainsey is a pretty good pairing but Muzzin-Zaitsev and Marancin-"oozhagoozha" make the Hawks d-corps look average which is a step up from comparisons with other d-corps around the league. |

Who would be the coach now if Stan would have fired Q last year? Would Stan have brought JC up last year after not having a full season in the AHL as a coach? Would JC say yes? Hard to say if we would be as good as we are now or worse. It would be interesting to see if Stan would have signed Manning or not in the off-season, because supposedly Manning was a "Q pick." - Flying Puck
Interesting question. I am under the impression that JC was the heir apparent for the position when it opened up; think we just didn’t expect it to open so quickly.
Given his track record and respect within the league, it would have been interesting to see if trotz was available at the time of firing whether he could have been available and interested in the hawks position if an offer would have been made. I believe the hawks would have been significantly better this year if trotz had been in place here at the beginning of the year. (And believe the islanders would have been significantly worse and maybe one or two of their more coveted assets would be available for trade or on the market this summer. )

Hey Justin!!!
Another great write-up dude!!
I don't think we have enough sample size to declare Hawks having ANYTHING figured out on defense. Now, if they can keep the Leafs to 3 or less tonight, I might START to become a believer....but, I feel a 5-4, 6-5 or 8-6 game moreso than 3-2.
Let's seee what happens, should be a fast paced high, high skill game either way.
Go Hawks!!! |

Mexico is saving their money to (1) build staircases or elevators to the top of the wall on the Mexican side and (2) pay for rappelling gear for the people who get there.

Even if we lose the majority of the games the rest of the season, I think you have to call this year a success (playoffs or not). think about the team that ended the season last year and our "hopes" for this year -
We were "hoping" that Schmautz would become a legit 2nd line center - The trade for Strome has answered that.
We were "hoping" that ADB would replicate his rookie year - goes without saying
We were "hoping" Saad would become Saad - for the most part yes
We were "hoping" Toews would be Toews - he has
We were "hoping" to get faster - with the additions we have and we have gotten younger
We were "hoping Stan" could get top 6 talented forwards - looks like we still need one more - Kahun has been playing top 6, and would consider him top 6, 39 points as a rookie is not too shabby.
We were "hoping" for more depth, Anisimov (basically a 3C now as opposed to 2C last year,Kampf, Perlini, Kreuger, Kunitz, Sikura, Hayden, Caggiula > than Sharp, Bouma, Wingels, Vinny, Duclair (and younger too).
We were "hoping" Seabrook would be better than last year. In spots yes, if he is slotted properly.
We were "hoping" Crawford would come back and be injury free - No, I do think goaltending is an area that needs to be beefed up next year. I am not as high on Delia as some are here.
We were "hoping" the defense would be better, Although individuals like Murphy, Dahlstrom, even Gus (offensively at least) are better than last year, the team defense is still horrid. Is it systems or the personnel. Hoefully Joki can become a regular next year, and I hope Stan either through trade or some other means can snag a legit top 4.
I am sure I am leaving some out both positive and negative, but record aside, I think the team has taken a step forward this year, and a couple of key additions with prudent use of the cap space will make them a playoff team next year that at least has a shot at winning the first round in a playoff series. - LAHawk
I agree that the hawks will be ending their season in a much better position than I though they would be in as November morphed in December. Think some of the personnel moves were very good and several players who look to have long and successful terms with the team were added. The team still has holes to fill, but I think the needs are fewer than they were at the start of the season.
