I don't know if you get that, per se. They are quite different players and the Leafs have also shown that they want to negotiate somewhat fairly with their players. The contracts all feel high - likely because are on the higher end - but it makes for a better relationship between the players and management.

With Moore . . . I'd agree with you. He has earned a shot up the lineup. I'd love to see what he could do with Matthews. I do like Johnsson, but he's got 1 assist in his last 6, and is -5. Maybe some energy would bring Matthews up as well.

How often do guys who get rushed end up crashing out at lower expectations? Unless it's an emergency situation, keep him down in the A where he can develop, just like we did with Kap, Johnsson, Willie etc.

Idk, very few. Hard to say, maybe they actually don’t have the skills to be NHLers to begin with? Sometimes a guy goes 5th round and ends up in the HHOF, sometimes a top 10 pick doesn’t get a sniff..
