Don't underestimate Benning's ability to poorly manage the amazing young talent he's been able to accrue.
- TheMussel

So Quinn Hughes won’t play more than 10 games over the next two season?

I don’t follow...

Isn’t the expansion draft in like 2 years? Lol...

- Arctic_AARDVARK

If he plays 10 games this year it'd count as a season. Followed by next year and the one after, it'd come out to be 3 years of professional experience and he'd have to be protected. If he plays less than 10 then this season wouldn't count as a professional experience and by the time the expansion draft rolls around he'd only have 2 years and not need to be protected.

if hughes plays 82 games next season, he's still exempt for seattle expansion draft.

Then all we gotta do is prepare for the contraction drafts for when the islanders and coyotes fold

anyone listen to TSN 1200 in Ottawa, I guess Steve Warne got laid off?
damn he has been on since I have been in the area (2006) doing the morning show

Was never a big fan (mostly cuz he hated the Leafs) but he was a pretty big staple in the community forever

Next step will be moving the Panthers somewhere else.

Actually, I think Sandin's is a little different now that I think of it. He's allowed to play in the AHL because he's under 20 and from Europe so it doesn't count as professional experience according to that rule Mussel shared...

Quinn Hughes couldn't play 10 games for the Canucks or their AHL affiliate because he's 'Murican if I'm understanding correctly. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong here

Sandin could play in the NHL today..

They’re not burying him for the next 2 seasons so SEA can’t take him.. makes no sense.. just don’t protect one of the crappy dmen.. bury Loljegren if anyone...

- Arctic_AARDVARK

Nah. Sandin ain't ready yet. I'd love to see Liljegren and him get a game, though.

Had Liljegren not missed so much time with injuries, he would have gotten a few games with the Leafs.

Regardless of what happens, I'm 100% certain that Sandin is not going to Seattle.

I don’t buy that tbh...

I don’t put as much stock in age as others. You either are smart and skilled enough, or you aren’t. I think the league has changed a lot.

Excellent! So we now have the new replacement Sean Durzi, Joseph Duszak. The last names are similar, so I'm totally satisfied.

I'd honestly rather Brown on the 4th line and move up Moore or Ennis to the 3rd. Brown's offense has gone awol since his first season.

Moore should be up on the 3rd line with Kadri tonight.. Since Brown scored a meaningless goal against Tampa, that means that Babcock plays him with Matthews going forward.

I don't think they'd have to bury him for the next 2 seasons, just the rest of this one, which they probably will.
