Kap is possibly the only player doing that stuff on this team now

Totally agree. Love his play....when he's not concussed.

I don't disagree. Their fly-bys can be annoying, but I think it's something you're gonna have to get used to. This is the team Dubas is assembling and physicality is becoming more obsolete by the year. If you don't like this, you're going to be sorely disappointed in the game of hockey 10 years from now.

Yeah, I think the injuries are a big factor here. They have enough talent to push through and keep a competitive game going but they aren't used to it. Boston gets injuries every year and it doesn't phase them at all because they get injuries every year. The Leafs are so new to being down important players they don't know how to react. Nobody has stepped up.

Sounds plausible. Im also thinkin theres to much of the same type of player on this team. No im not saying trade skill for heavy. Its more that i think the depth players should not be fly byers. Kadri is probably the toughest on the team and even he has looked emotionless out there.

I mean. It might be

Then i guess basketball, baseball and soccer will be the only games on

Too many guys elite or not that don't play physical at all. No balance.

If they win the cup with this, I will be glad but truth be told, I don’t think this style of play will get them far in the Playoffs. I hope to God I’m wrong.
- LeafMan

I think they can. We have to remember we're also not done. This isn't the team we're set in stone to use for the next 10 years.
Our D will get better. Our depth will get better.. and maybe even... *gasps* Bigger!
Guys like Marchment and Engvall would be good on the 4th line.
Back-up goalie will be addressed as well.

Maybe. I don't know that he's all about analytics and comes form a family of dirty players.
- aminnes

Lou brought in Martin. Think he signed Komarov also. Polak. Etc. Leafs lost with those players also

It's way overrated and it just makes some fans feel warm and fuzzy and makes them think that's what proves they care. When fans really don't know poop about what's inside players and drives them

Maybe but Dubas has only shown to get smaller players (Muzzin excluded) but none that are gritty, time will tell.

Muzzin? And didn’t he bring Marchment into the organization?

Leafs sucked with those guys. Islanders seem pretty good, no? It's not about just those guys, there is no balance. Teams take liberties against the leafs no problem. Hockey has a level of fear in it, and no one fears the leafs at all.

I don't disagree at all. I even addressed it. Engvall would be a useful addition because he's actually big. Guys like Ennis have been super productive this year, but getting Petan like he's not Ennis-lite didn't make sense to me.
It's also a reason I advocate Borgman over Rosen despite the fact that Rosen is probably "better." He plays too similar a style to everyone else on the blueline.
