I don’t buy that tbh...

I don’t put as much stock in age as others. You either are smart and skilled enough, or you aren’t. I think the league has changed a lot.

Which part? 'Cause Dubas has already said that the plan was to get Liljegren NHL time but the high ankle sprains put a stop to that.

And watching Sandin, you can see that he's not quite ready yet.

Moore should be up on the 3rd line with Kadri tonight.. Since Brown scored a meaningless goal against Tampa, that means that Babcock plays him with Matthews going forward.
- PatC80

Sounds likely.

Then all we gotta do is prepare for the contraction drafts for when the islanders and coyotes fold

Hot take;
Next season, both Liljegren and Sandin are up with the Leafs.

If we are unable to sign, or trade for a RHD.

They get so ridiculously complicated, don't they? Jesus by.
- Thecakeisalie

Yar b’y..

Life’s too short to waste time on non-essential complicated happenings. Leave that for the lawyers. I take the same approach to almost everything now, politics, news, whatever.

you laugh, but if I see a line combo of Marleau-Matthews-Brown.

I'm not gonna be happy.

I’ll take your word for it. I only see the highlights. But from what I hear he has the essentials, skating, decision making etc.. I guess what I meant was that I don’t think his size matters.

Quebec City and Houston.

Or wait for the owner of the Hurricanes to move them to Houston and move one of the others to southern Ontario.

Maybe. I can see the Leafs wanting to keep Sandin down longer, plus Rosen deserves to be in the NHL. He's been arguably the best d-man in the AHL this season.

no he doesn't.
career AHL'er.
he'll get a few games and will turn into fans' whipping boy quickly.
he's got lousy defensive covering and is prone to making key mistakes in the d-zone like Gardiner. if you don't like Gardiner for his d-play, you'll hate Rosen.
imo CyBorg is a better fit for this team's 3rd d pairing (with Liljegren or someone else).

Yeah, Sandin is gonna be really good, I think. Both he and Liljegren were on record setting pace in their rookie years for 18 year old d-men in the AHL. Sucks that they both got hurt.

I don't watch the Marlies, but from what I saw last year in the Calder (Borgman wasn't playing), and last year on the Leafs:

Rosen is a better skater, and is a smarter player. Rosen is also a better passer.

Borgman is more physical, but is slower, and because of his tendency to play the body, ends up out of position more.

I don't really recall their shots that much, but I think in one game Borgman let off a wicked bomb that led us to be optimistic about his shot, but his AHL stats don't exactly scream, "Hellofashot!".

Based on the way the Leafs play, Rosen seems a better fit for the flow from the back-end.

I heard Dubas could have hired Jagr as a player/coach and refused. he also could have acquired 3 top pairing Dmen at the deadline for useless gardiner but refused. I can't wait until he's fired after they don't even make the playoffs

Dubas was totally lying when he said the price to get an RHD was more than they wanted to spend..
