Again, you are the coach

Not the GM

Seriously, tell me - as a coach how you gonna pump up grown men.. every night?

It's on the players. period.

You'd think, given their record of holding on to leads, that starting in the first half of the game would be more important to them. If they're gonna mail it in, mail it in in the 3rd when they're already up by a couple goals. They'll find a way to hold it somehow.

It’s baffling but you can see it immediately, first shift they get hemmed in for the whole shift and that starts the downfall for the first period.

Gonna have to get off this horse eventually buddy. He's been a great 4th liner for us. Nobody agrees with you here.

most teams suffer from the same thing. the other team is also trying to win.
there is the extreme cases like TB who are too good and Ottawa who suck..but the middle is a tough go, and every other team is missing something just like the Leafs

- senstroll

I would like to think we are above the middle.

I don't see the lack of effort so much as I see the actual effort when they turn it on.
They're a mediocre mess until they find a way to get one fluky goal, then they haul ass and look incredible. It's weird.

every team needs at least 1 strong leader that makes sure everyone is ready to go - if not, the coach and the GM haven't done their job. Period!

the difference between the middle 10-15 teams is very slim today

hockey basically comes down to some luck and refs handing you PPs

It happens far too frequently. It is an issue.

Getting the odd goal here and there =/= being great 4th liner. More often than not, he's (frank)ing useless.

When he doesn't get lucky and put one into the net, he is a complete waste of (frank)ing space out there. He falls 5 or 6 times every shift for literally no reason. He. Is. Trash.

Outside of Marincin, easily the worst player on this team.

They used to blow leads constantly. One issue at a time, I guess.

Yeah, our team was pretty embarrassing in the first.

The last 10 minutes or so were pretty exciting lol.
Enjoy the win.

I think the leafs have a couple lol

It's not on the coaching staff to make players play hard.

They cant move their legs for them

Cherry might be a bunch sandpaper-y but some of what he's saying is true.

Andersen would win a Vezina with a decent D in front of him.

Our D sucks. Boy wonder Dubas should have done a little at the deadline just in case of injury which is...now...making our D suck even worse. A good GM should anticipate things.

Some of the forwards are floating. Lazy and not showing up on time.

When I played....nothing serious so don't start with that poop....kids came with heart and didn't need a coach to pump sunshine up their arse, they (frank)ing played. Some kids were lazy C unts and took a bit of a verbal beating to get going.

I want a team full of the former.

I just remember when Mike Brown jumped on the ice and we had a shiite team. He did two things from working his ass off and throwing a few hits:

1. Got the team back in it because he showed serious heart
2. Got the crowd to forget how poop the team was playing and us fans at least had that at the end of the game.

There is nothing I hate more when watching this team than seeing them play without heart or balls. Fuuuuccccking hate it. One hit makes me feel soooo much better win or lose. Heart, win or lose, makes me feel better.

Not saying this team doesn't have heart and want to win, just saying maybe it's all the same kind of heart which is not the physical kind....sometimes that is needed too.

Clearly they gotta play some pump up music before games. I suggest some Kelly Clarkson.

Dubas did add Muzzin. He should’ve expected 4 injuries to the defence.

Can't blow leads if you're usually behind! Problem solved!

But seriously, it's good they've worked on the one issue I guess, hopefully they can now figure out this starting on time crap.
