I think the plan is to use Rosen or Borgman if they need a replacement. But they’re hurt.

Meh, not even a full year as an NHL GM. He’ll learn, always expect injuries. Could’ve added a Beaulieu or a Del Zotto for a late pick.
- Steven_Seagull

The Leafs don’t have cap space to correct the defence in a meaningful way except for a significant forward going in a trade.

So we might possibly be worse on the backend next season.

Dubas did add Muzzin. He should’ve expected 4 injuries to the defence.
- Steven_Seagull

Ya, I know we got Muzz....thank F U C K!!! Great move....even though a few were complaining about the price.

And, no, he should not expect 4 injuries....but one more 4/5/6 type wouldn't hurt....kinda like fries, can't fit all in your beak but you take them anyway, find a spot on the beach and chill. Just don't want to see Marincin or OZ ever again. It has to be obvious to them too.

It's more a combo of things.

I was all for a Ferland/#2,3,4 RD from Carolina. I just think that would have rounded out this team nicely. (frank)ing Simmonds right now would be a (frank) of alot better the Petaniac.

I'm gonna be honest with you. I really don't (frank)ing care what anyone else thinks on this. I really, really don't.

I just want a garbage player off this team.

- GreatGigInTheSky

If you don't care, perhaps don't bring it up then. I feel that is a situation where all parties win.

rather just ride this out, get to the playoffs by using the fills ins and keep the picks

draft picks are important. Del zotto is not going to do anything

in fans heads it sure does

but I have not seen one person correlate hits to wins. I dont expect you to agree.
I dont care if players throw hits, but I also dont care if they dont all the time

- senstroll

intimidation is a real thing

thinking you're going to get hit so you move the puck a little quicker is a real thing

When teams play the leafs - they know they will just get stick checked - no need to force a play

A lot of people WILL NOT take a hit to make a play - again the leafs you don't have to worry about doing it.

We dont need guys with clubs

but we dot need a guy to throw an occasional body check

After next season though, we'll have two young guns on D with cheap starter contracts that will help very much. Next year is going to be tough, though, for sure.

I don't know. Maybe. Marincin should be tossed into a volcano after this season ends. Hainsey's contract expires. Gardiner is a free agent and won't be back.

They'll probably call up Rosen and Liljegren to start the season.

Yeah I was curious how some of the deadline deals are panning out.

Only Stone seems to have been the best one. Or how is Hayes doing in the peg?

We will see, as of right now it is Rielly, Dermott, Zaitsev and Muzzin signed.

Two has to come from within or one from a big trade, Dubas has work to do.

Challenge accepted.

What if Dubas tried but the price was too much? Canes wanted a 1st+ just for Ferland.

Dubas got Muzzin who does that.

the thing is when you get more of those players, and things dont improve, you just make up another reason and move the goal posts..

anyways its a waste of time arguing about it.

kapanen or johnson are traded is my guess

Kap gets you the better return

Need some help on D before anything else.

That’s how I look at it, we will see what Dubas is made of next season.
