I was on the tank train at the end of december, stressed they needed to make a trade before the winter freeze otherwise they were destined for a lottery pick

And I was the biggest sabres drum beater before the season started

lose every freakin game to end this season and get a warrior behind the bench

hell replace phil with the bills gm for the rest of the season, at least he has passion

- homiedclown

Apart from our Reinhart/Draisatil and Matthews/Eichel debates I agree with everything you post. I do remember you calling for the tank as well and it wasn’t until you were on board when people started to hop on as well. I started the movement but you were the leader the people followed so kudos to you.

Like some believing that Berglund would have a better season than ROR this year?

I was WAY off on that one

I thought Berglund would be good for 35 to 40 even strength points this year

Just stumbled across that while searching for another post. Hey, we all have bad takes once in a while. I was trying to find a post where I bet Lehner would win a playoff game before the Sabres would after he signed with the Isles, but couldn't find it.

At least Sam is proving he can make an impact and not just be a passenger.

Reinhart is good. Like actually really good.

Sometimes I just wonder how that skill set was worthy of 2nd overall

If Leon was Canadian he’d have been our pick IMO

If Leon wasn't German he would have been our pick

If he was Swedish, Finnish, Candian, or American he might have went 1st overall

He had no real media push his draft year probably because he is German

look at the lack of effort from most of them for the last 15 games

when we still had a chance to get in position for the last 10 games to have a purpose

it's like they wanted to avoid the playoffs, most of them

Since the salary-cap era began in 2005-06, 78.4 percent of teams in playoff position by the fourth Thursday in November have made it. It’s so notable that it is considered the NHL’s unofficial Thanksgiving rule.

“You can’t make the playoffs in November, but you can knock yourself out,” veteran Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik said. “It seems like even when you’re down four points at the end of the year, the games get so much tighter and there’s more three-point games, it seems like, toward the end of the year. Teams are playing a lot more defensive and safe. It seems like it’s easier to pile up points now than it is to try to catch up at the end.”

When they were both coming out I thought Reinhart would be a Niklas Backstrom and Draisatil would be a Malkin. I have been one of Reinhart’s harshest critics. For the past three years I thought he was going to end up being the “Bobby Ryan” of this decade but I must admit he has proven me wrong this year and has risen his level of play. Sam still can’t play Centre, and won’t be an elite player by any means, but he can drive play and be a 65 point winger and that has value in today’s NHL. I think he still has room to grow and I was overly critical in calling him a bust. I’d rather pay him big bucks then Skinner fwiw.

I actually don't see the point in firing him right now (as in today). Wait until the end of the season.

Wasn't there a Swedish coach the sabres were interested in? Too bad someone wasn't secretly interviewing coaches

I still think on the beach is one of the most under rated records ever, but live rust and rust never sleeps is clearly his best

These days, I play On The Beach more than any others, both because of quality and that I hadn’t played it to death in my younger years.

I enjoyed reading posts from 15 months ago that say this team needs players who will work their asses off.
