Plus the 5 games he lost last year.
13 missed game checks for a guy that wasn’t making much to begin with.
Let’s just hope he’s learned his lesson and becomes a better man from it. - dadeadhead
Probably an unpopular opinion, but 13 games is nonsense. He deserved to never play again. 3rd alleged assault charge, lied to the Chiefs about it trying to save his own ass...I would never let him play in the NFL again.
Just two cents. I hope he learns from this as well, since we are giving him a seventeenth chance or whatever. |

Hopefully they talked to Q and he wanted take the rest of the season off. Cuz I really don't want to believe that Phil's inability to spark anything in this team wasn't noticed by Bott's until just lately.
On another note. If Jack is a Richard to some in the locker room, who can blame him? - Pope of Pucks
I'd be the biggest Richard in that room right about now.... If that's what jack is doing GOOD for him.... this team is too f-ing soft. |

What kind of bullsh!t letter will the season ticket holders be sent this year? - CoHo_to_B-Lo
Sat in the Season ticket holder suite Tuesday. The extremely nice girl who works the 2 suites said “We didn’t send out playoff invoices because we thought it was bad PR.”
I nearly spit my beer out.

3 more weeks of this horse poop.
I'll remember how fun November was. I expect, nay, demand, a powerful season ending conference from Botterill. - TheSabresTaco
right there with you.... he was unhappy last year can't imagine what this years is going to be like!
I can't imagine what would happen if we hear him say there will be no coaching change.... LOL |

It would be inexcuseable. Waiting for pham to do his typical whining about "buffalo running coaches out of town before they get a chance." House had his chance......all he had to do was get the time to play .500 after the streak.....they have been (frank)ING AWFUL. |

Okposo's mad, huh? I suspect there are mirrors in the dressing room. Does he look at them? Does he get his own irony and hypocrisy? For a guy who has 11 goals, 15 assists, and makes as much money as Taylor Hall, Logan Couture, and Matt Duchene, maybe he should just shut up, or better yet, retire. |

I’m guessing he’ll emphasize the win streak and how proud he was of it. Then he’ll downplay or not mention lack of winning back-to-back games. |

I would love to be a fly on the wall after Botterill's post season meeting with the Pegulas. Or maybe I wouldn't because it would just be depressing. |

I just go back to the day when Murray and Bylsma were fired on the same day. Supposedly, Murray hadn't even offered a solution to the problem. |

as always, my apologies for not back reading....so if Im just giving an identical viewpoint, Im sorry.
A month ago, I wasn't so sure, but now I am in agreement. They have to fire Housley. They have to. Id bet good mo9ney that the only reason he hasn't been fired yet is JB is thinking, "Mike Schopp, Jeremy White and Hockeybuzz isn't telling ME how to do my job..I CALL THE SHOTS AROUND HERE". His only reason for not firing him yet is to avoid looking like "boy...the general public is much better at my job than I am". He knows the coach has to go.
at least how I see it... |

Yeah, that’s probably not what they wanted to hear from a general manager. I’m betting Botts knows better than to do that. |

What kind of bullsh!t letter will the season ticket holders be sent this year? - CoHo_to_B-Lo
The letter I want to see is something along the lines of:
Dear Season Ticket holder,
When we bought the team we thought it would be fun and all we'd have to do is throw money around. Turns out you actually have to have a clue or hire someone who does. We did neither. In light of that we will cover the cost of your season tickets next year while we find a new owner to sell the team to. One that will suck less than us. Sorry we're so bad at this. Please visit our new Labatt's Brew House. |

I actually don't see the point in firing him right now (as in today). Wait until the end of the season.

An old saying in sports is that a coach or general manager “who listens to the fans ends up sitting with them.” Fans are important, but the coach or general manager has the best knowledge of the team and gets paid for that specialized knowledge.
I'm glad a lot of the posters here have no say in what the organization actually does. A lot of blame being tossed out there without any actual knowledge of what is going on. Need to see how this plays out after more than one or two years. The ten game win streak was very similar to the Bills making the playoffs. An anomaly. Last season the Bills new they were not going to be competitive just like the Sabres knew they were not going to be good this season. After suffering last season the Bills were now able to build the team they imagined. Hopefully the Sabres are on the same path. |
