Plus the 5 games he lost last year.

13 missed game checks for a guy that wasn’t making much to begin with.

Let’s just hope he’s learned his lesson and becomes a better man from it.

I can't feel even a little bit bad about a guy that made $1.7m over the last two years, and that is after his fines and lost pay checks.

They play with ZERO Passion, Heart, Turtle at the first sight of adversity, Don't play a consistent system and that has everything to do with a HC that is in way over his head. They have not scored in over a week. How do they not move on from the entire coaching staff after this year?

- hehateme

just like every team since briere and drury left

some of these guys have been doing this for several coaches, see risto

An old saying in sports is that a coach or general manager “who listens to the fans ends up sitting with them.” Fans are important, but the coach or general manager has the best knowledge of the team and gets paid for that specialized knowledge.

I'm glad a lot of the posters here have no say in what the organization actually does. A lot of blame being tossed out there without any actual knowledge of what is going on. Need to see how this plays out after more than one or two years. The ten game win streak was very similar to the Bills making the playoffs. An anomaly. Last season the Bills new they were not going to be competitive just like the Sabres knew they were not going to be good this season. After suffering last season the Bills were now able to build the team they imagined. Hopefully the Sabres are on the same path.

Played a good game. One of our better forwards, not that that's saying much.

He'll be a welcome addition to our middle 6 long term.

My prediction is that they fire Housley after the season is done. They interview coach Q amongst others. He pulls a Babcock on us. We end up with either McClelland or Vigneualt which I am OK with. We need an experienced coach.

Cody McCormick, he would be a beaut.

No. I've never claimed to know more than anyone here. I do acknowledge though that the people who were hired to do their job may be more knowledgeable than the posters here. A lot of blame placed on guys that know a lot more about hockey than anyone posting their opinions of what is wrong with the team. Of course anybody is entitled to their own opinions, but hopefully they can realize that guys like Jbotts and Phil know a lot more about hockey than these armchair GMs and Coaches do. No team that has ever finished 31st in the league made the playoffs the following season. You can't overhaul your entire roster in one offseason.

Does that go for Tim Murray too? Is it unfair to criticize his actions while GM here?

Sat in the Season ticket holder suite Tuesday. The extremely nice girl who works the 2 suites said “We didn’t send out playoff invoices because we thought it was bad PR.”

I nearly spit my beer out.

veteran forward Jason Botterill brought up playing for 'pride' which is about all that's left on the season but even his words rang hollow.

When did bott's sign himself to play for us ? Lol Anyways nice write up man.

Excellent Journalism and Insight Mr. Pach

That about wraps it up, everything else is simply wasted breath.

The guy was on an absolutely Amazing Nashville Team that rode a wave of enthusiasm and heralded progressive young coaches. They were especially unique in the way their Defensemen skated in unison with the forwards creating a whirlwind affect to the opposition with their slow to respond defense.

Then the league studied this uptempo progressive style and began to build teams in similar fashion with Active D

Every Good Coach has to adapt their Style to meet their players talents, hopefully finding a happy medium but it seems its been two straight that prefer Philosophy over Adapting to Players skill sets and growth lvl.

Lindy Ruff brought TWO Sabres teams to Stanley Cup Championship Level of Play
And whats most impressive is he didn't in Two Opposite Styles!

Michael- great right up as always.

What if they fire housley and win 6 or 7 games out of the last 12? Under a new coach.

Wouldnt it be better to draft 5th or 6th, then fire him?
Maybe end with 77 points . 3-7-2 finish
