So San Jose is going 11-0 in the last 11 games to get to 116 points? Ha, I think something is wrong with the simulator. |

So you have Philly beating Carolina in the last game of the season to determine the final playoff spot?
Your simulator really thinks the Flyers win 4 more games than Carolina does the rest of the year, despite having 1 fewer game to do it in?
Have a hard time seeing the Flyers picking up 18 points in 12 games while the Canes only pick up 10 in 13. - BINGO!

Let's hope that the Pens can nail it shut this Sunday . |

It’s not impossible, but simply winning isn’t enough if everyone else continues to win. Even the Penguins aren’t safe yet, but they are more in control of their own destiny at this point.
Philly has to win and rely on too heavily on other teams to lose. - Rinosaur
Agreed! Philly just fell too far back, too early to make up the ground they need to cover. I’m a Flyers guy, and a realist. I’m just happy they are trending upward with all the young talent, and hope Felch doesn’t screw it up. To me, Carolina is in, Pens finish in the top 3, and the Flyers miss by 5. That schedule is a killer, and are bound to let down after another loss or two. |

Other than the Rangers and possibly Chicago, all of those teams you list have something to play for. Everything has to fall almost perfectly for the Flyers and other teams have to fall on their face.
If the Flyers go 10-2 (which is extraordinarily unlikely because it requires them to collect 83% of their remaining points, which is a 20% increase over their pace in their last 10) and collect 20 points to get to 96, Columbus would only have to go 7-4-1 to also get to 96 because they currently hold the tiebreaker. (Regulation wins). That's 62.5% for Columbus, which is essentially the pace they currently are at.

"A great race for the top of the Metro...Pittsburgh due to the factors in the remaining games is projecting out to 108 points, where the Caps are projecting out to 105 points... Both teams are playing nearly perfect hockey as their experience is kicking in BIG, but the Caps have three games left with Tampa."
If a Tree fell in the middle of the ice during an Islander's game would Ek know about it? so the race for the top of Metro is between the Pens and Caps... good to know. - niteislander
What if that tree fell in the middle of an English class on Long Island when the teacher was explaining the proper use of apostrophes? |

Severely wrong, Calgary currently has a game in hand and is one point back of SJ; but SJ goes 11-0 and the Flames go into the playoffs going .500 with one of the easier schedules remaining in the entire league. The simulator is doing a bad job... |

Apparently I must have missed the Isles falling out of the race for the Metro crown |

So... Pitt is going to close the season out going 10-0-1... on a current win streak of 3...
so a 13-0-1 finish. But hey, lets make more math fun... last ten is 7-1-2... So now they close the season off at 17-1-3.
Well damn, just give them the Cup already if they are that hot. |
