On Brock i’m guessing JB wants 5/5.5m like Bo. Brocks agent might opt for a bridge or seek 6/6.5m. His game isn’t well rounded enough to get more so a bridge deal to get healthier & better might be his way to go.

From last thread (neem commented too):

tyler bozak was an amazing pick up for the leafs. a free agent player that slid up and down their lineup and chipped in 30-50 points a year.

that would be an amazing find. almost equivalent to a 2nd-3rd round draft pick who developed correctly in his draft +2-3years.

- RealityChecker

I don't want to get into a Tyler Bozak discussion but he is definitely a player who benefited from circumstance. Good for him and all the others (like Burrows) who made chicken salad out of chicken poop, but this team needs more than just workman like attitude. It needs top end skill. Best way of getting that top end skill is drafting it.

If you fill your roster with middling type players you'll end up with a middling record and draft spot. You just made it harder on yourself trying to obtain that top end talent.

Get your skilled core and surround it with players like Bozak. Not the other way around.

college free agents = don't have to give up assets + don't have to negotiate contract terms (aside from bonuses).

these are the types of free agents jimmy boy should be limited to.

The kid was considered one of the best goaltending prospects in the world like a year ago, now Markstrom level is his ceiling?

I still think he has the potential to be a very good goalie, he's just had a couple of unfortunate injuries this year. Hopefully he can hit reset in the summer and come back strong.

- NorthNuck

Markstrom was the best goaltending prospect in the world at one point. He is a legit number one now, Demko is merely a wildcard with a soft head

Marky stepped it up this season. I can see a 65/17 split approximately next year.
- Nighthawk

Marky stepped it up because of off season signing Ian Clark. I'd like to see what Demko can do over the summer. I wouldn't be surprised if he comes in hungry at training camp to try and steal the starting gig from Markstrom. Markstrom's contract is up at the end of next year so we need to know what we have in Demko sooner than later.

Great strategy Belcher, EP and Horvat would be asking for a trade within a week. Banish Lou from this org. Hope this is his last game

Wouldn't that make Petey and Bo entitled whiners a la McCann, Tryamkin, Dahlin... good riddance, I say.

Tyler Bozak stop the Leafs from drafting Nylander, Marner, Matthews, Reilly?

Stecher, Roussell, Tanev stop Van from getting a high draft pick this season?

Wpg signed Tanev and next summer ended up getting to draft Laine.

Two years ago LA signed Alex Iafallo. He is clearly stopping them from getting high end skill.

Dahlen 🤢 I think he is buttery soft but probably not a bad kid. McCann was an arrogant little pr!ck and everyone knows how much I loathe Tryamkin. Coward

Just looked at capriendly & we’ve 32m for 6 signings open if cap moves to $83m.
- Nighthawk

The salary cap will be 83 mil not 79.5 so move it up to 36 mil in cap space.

I agree somewhat, marky is 29 and finally found it, it appears. He could be great for 5 to 8 years.
