The Canucks prospect pool was praised as being one of the best in the league but has seen that top prospect group and the perception about their potential quickly erode due to a variety of factors.

I think Biech answered his own question a paragraph before.

It could simply be that it’s the same story in March for another year or we’ve reached a point where fans are just too frustrated. Either way, it seems that everything is being questioned as the Canucks finish out the 2018-19 season despite the arrival of Quinn Hughes.

The draft can’t get here fast enough. Man, this is excruciating.

If he means who is the next Victor Hedman in Canucks prospect pool how many other teams have the next Hedman in their fold waiting to step in?

We still have Juolevi Woo Utunen Rathbone Brassard all yet 22 years old . We have Briesbois Sautner . I am sure we will draft a Dman or two this year.

We have a few prospects that can play. They may not be top pairing but we won't know that for years.

I can’t. I have this reoccurring nightmare that the team will screw it up somehow.

It shouldnt be too hard except for the very few who actually thought this was a playoff team

I have to admit there were fleeting signs that they might squeak in but the odds (based on historical record) were stacked against them. The mix just ain’t right yet.

Sometimes it feels like JB impedes his own progress.

Didn't amass enough draft picks. Got to build the entire team through draft picks.

I was never on-board with having a rookie group managing this franchise through a rebuild. Once again, making it difficult for yourself. I don’t get it.

What gives you the idea that the people running this franchise can find multiple avenues to improve this team? So far there is no evidence of that.

For me, I would put the most energy into the strategies that have worked for you. In JB’s case it’s drafting in the 1st round.

Once the draft is over, I hope Aquilini gives Benning, Brown, and Baumgartner their walking papers. Removing those three will definitely help with the rebuild. Keeping them keeps this team mired in mediocrity.

I've never seen a GM win every trade.

Even the ones that have won cups. Think Panarin for Saad

How about Lucic for Jones, Miller and a 1st. Jones and Miller both gone to SC finals. LA now worst in the league 3 years later.

JB has always said that he would like more draft picks. Always heard chances that he could have had more draft picks and didn't. If he thought that these draft picks were more valued than said player, why wouldn't he pull the trigger? Why does a GM who has guided his team to one of the best prospect pools in the league not just gather extra draft picks every year? Multiple times at the draft table people are offering two picks for one and he doesn't do it.

Quite possibly JB has had a plan since day 1. Maybe he is executing that plan and the people sitting at home, who generally have no idea about the inner workings of being an NHL GM, think they know better.

Now that is the #1 lamest comment on a pro-hockey discussion thread. It's obvious that we speculate. Kind of the point.

It's obvious. It is kind of the point. That's the fun of it. We are all always right to.

I haven't seen much evidence to see that he can't turn the franchise around through other avenues.

On the College front
Rathbone with an assist in a 1-1 game in the 3rd.

Madden with a goal in a 1-1 game in the 3rd as well. Nucker's Brady Keeper has the response for Maine.

Would you care to provide examples of JB’s crafty workmanship? I think his failures are well documented, especially on here.
