I think they’ve subconsciously gone into cruise control because there’s nowhere to go until the playoffs. Not what the coach would be preaching but there’s not much he can do right now to motivate them. - shack67

I don’t think the players care about that in the same way management does. |

That's a ridiculous argument.
I don't even know what to say to that |

Why does Tampa keep steamrolling?
Surely they should be the team allowed to take nights off.
They don't.
They keep on winning.
Ahead of the entire league by 20 points.
They are poop right now. Period |

If they can't motivate themselves to hunt for home ice. This team is (frank)ed
Coaches aren't the catalyst for motivating a team by the way. |

Your right. They had the fire power up front. So they shored up the defense when the time came. The Leafs either believe its not yet time or having a competent defense is over blown. Take your pick. Lol

Correct. Goalchie is getting no support. Could have traded for Tanev in the off season, or some other competent D man. |

They traded for muzzin, so yeah that blows that theory out of the water.

Yup, and that doesn't mean for Matthews to turn into Keith Primeau, because that ain't happening, but lay into the body once in a while; finish a check, clear the crease.
Sucks that Holl will be sat again for sure, but the -4 on the night was deceiving: he was playing well, just started taking chances that didn't pan out, but when you're playing from behind all night, that'll happen.
Key is for this team to come out of the gate on fire for once. Set the pace instead of receiving the game all night and hoping for a bailout in net on the first 5-10 shots while your legs get under you. |

He was -4 but he wasn't the worst out there that's for sure. He doesn't deserve to come out, but I'm sure he will. |

In my mind I wanted more from Muzzin, I didn't expect more, because I've seen him play. To be honest...he isn't the game changer some people thought he would be,or should I say *hoped* he would be. At least not yet. |

I don't think anyone thought he was going to be a game changer. He's a solid dman. A 3-4 dman, something the leafs needed. And still need. |

I thought he’s been great.
He had a couple weeks there when he was playing injured and didn’t look himself...he was wrapped around his ribs.
But without him Marincin would be on the 2nd pair right now. |

So overated.
The players don’t care about home ice. In fact I bet they like how on the road Babs can’t line match. It shows in their road record.
Home ice is just for the fans. |
