Devon Travis is out 4-6 weeks... again.
On top of being useless defensively, he's always hurt. Should've traded the bum 2 years ago when some team might've actually given up something for him.  |

Team is in a slump. They've played meh over the past 15 games are so. Had a few good ones in there, and have had 4 really piss poor ones in a row now.
BUT
5th in the league, comfortably in a playoff spot, 3rd in goal differential, all the while Marincin is in the lineup game in and game out with a struggling starter and poop backup.
It's not time to panic just yet.

This is a great team.
They should be able to turn it on before playoffs. If they play like poop in the playoffs? Then yeah, there will be a few changes.
But we have to remember. It’s the 5th overall and 3rd overall facing each other in the first round. Leaf fans can’t be mad at them for losing the matchup. |

I don't see much evidence of that. And I find the idea that Shanahan would install a GM who has a completely different philosophy than his hand-picked coach to be simply not believable.

Obviously. Only one team in NHL history has had a 10 game winning streak in a season and not make the playoffs. It would be all kinds of embarrassing if they didn't.
Luckily for Buffalo, they're firmly in a playoff position.
